We just had 100 days of no rain here in SW Florida. Then the sky opened up and sent us an astounding 20 inches of rain in three days. I almost drowned my truck trying to escape one of the islands. I’ve lived here for 35 years and never seen anything like this. Unfortunately this may be the new normal. So here’s a brand new one. Thanks in advance for listening and commenting, Tom

Rain

We just had an awful drought

Never seen it quite this bad

Fields all cracked and turned to dust

No water to be had

Now It’s been raining every day Ain’t no end in sight

maybe we’ll just wash away out into the night

They say that this is normal and what we can expect
Even Mother nature’s bound to change
i just can’t believe it and then I heard it said
maybe we prayed a little too hard for rain

Picked a bad day to quit drinking why the hell even try
The crops dried up died of thirst not a single drop in sight
Then the creek came up and bottomland looks just like a lake
the roof just sprang another leak now i can’t catch a break

They say that this is normal and what we can expect
Even Mother nature’s bound to change
i just can’t believe it and then I heard it said
maybe we prayed a little too hard for rain

They say that this is normal and what we can expect
Even Mother nature’s bound to change
i just can’t believe it and then I heard it said
maybe we prayed a little too hard for rain

Hi Tom.

Fabulous!

Thought it was Bon Jovi when I heard the intro.

A startlingly good mix - a big, BIG, sound and just the right reverb washing over it.

Great story, great guitar, great vocals.

What's not to like?

ROG.

Nice intro, you caught my attention right away with that. Good story, performance, and mix.

I always enjoy hearing your music, always so well written with such a pro sound!

Weather is totally out of whack up this way too, *way* more rain than normal.

"There's a lot to like about this song and I like them all. From the opening guitar intro through the great vocal sound of the way you phrase "ch-a-eee-n-ge". You nailed it.

Killer vocals, killer lyrics, mix, arrangement and production. Top notch at every level.

This one is enjoyable from start to finish."

Your friend,

Tim McGraw

(That's what I think he'd say if he heard this song...... Might add he's taking to his next recording session as well..... It's that good. )

Very cool tone. Loved the jangly guitars in the intro.
Super vocal and excellent lyric. We are having the exact opposite up here in Northern Canada. Raining everyday. Ground is just so over saturated. I agree that this is the new normal. Weather storms becoming more intense. Kind of gets you thinking....

"maybe we prayed a little too hard for rain"

Great line to write a song around.

Everything up to the high standard that you have been setting for quite some time now - the write, the production, the vocal, the geetar... love those drums...

A "sneaky catchy" song - as many of yours are... they stick in your head without even realizing they will.... I hear them hours later...

You are a pro, Tom.

(we get the same weather... though often a few hours later... what a dry spell! and now we are worrying about when this rain will end...)

When the guitar sings a magnetic opening groove, and you're saying "WOW", you know it's another Tommyad classic!! Grabs you from the first moment and never lets you down. Fun, clever, and so well constructed, played, arranged. That's about as high as I've ever heard you on the lead vocal Tom. Just a great song in every way!! Every year, when Winter ends, I always find myself feeling like it's too soon. After all the rain this year, driving blind with rain hammering the windshield a half dozen times, I was happy to have an end to it. But, may find myself begging for rain in another year. Crazy times! Take care. Greg

Tom,

Outstanding! I can't say enough good things about this one... Great melody, guitar, RTs, and stellar vocal.

BTW, this is an absolutely great line: "maybe we prayed a little too hard for rain".

It does not get better than this...

cool tune. I like the "full frontal guitars" playing the rhythm.

Tom, man those guitars sound great! The tag line in the chorus is fantastic! A very original sounding piece of music with your signature "great mix sound". This is another good one. Thanks, Torrey.

Thanks for sharing Tommy! You nailed the intro on this, grabs you by the face right away. The production is on point as well, you utilized just the right amount of reverb. Not mention A+ on the vocals! One word for the whole song I'd use to describe it would be "attention grabbing." Great song, you should be proud of this one!

Very pleasant listening.
Excellent lyrics.

Also where I live here in Italy we have those climatic events.
Just yesterday after 35°/36° - air humidity 50 %, a heavy rain suddenly.

Never seen just 10 years ago.

Classic!

Sorry to hear about your deluge man, but it sure did produce a great song.

We just came in from a hike around the homestead and noticed the hickory nuts all over the trail that have fallen early due to how dry it's been...but only a couple months ago we had deluges on a regular basis. Made it easy to drop into this tune.

Not that we needed prompting as it presents all of the tommyad signature goodies. A clever write, great vocal/guitar performance all embedded in that easy to take for granted "big studio" sound. Easy to take for granted until you try to duplicate it smile

Janice loved the, as she says, "little lines he plays between the verses - I don't know how to say it!" She is now scat singing them.

Terrific production Mr Adams!

As odd as it seems, I didn't have that line in the beginning. It just popped out as I was writing. The write started at the first line in a linear fashion and I just rolled with the muse. Thanks for the great review. Tom

Tommy,

As I write this you're on your way to NC and I think you must have brought the rain with you... the bottom dropped out about an hour ago and put down so much that I got water in the basement (that has never happened before)

Anyway, I always like the way you add your own playing to create a hook.. it gives all your songs a personal touch and a unique sound .

Your songs are consistently among my favorites here on the forum, and I thank you for helping to keep the rest of us inspired!

Hello, Tom

The guitar phrasing at Intro that comes out many times is super cool.
It is a very catchy melody that attracts attention of the listeners.
Your vocals and guitar playing are superb as usual.

By the way, I tried to drink your bourbon recommendation-Elijah Craig.
It (12 years old) was very very splendid.
Thank you so much for your teaching it to me.
I thought that it might taste like Wild Turkey a little.

Very enjoyable listen.
Best regards.

The Bob Doyle Media YouTube channel is known for demonstrating how you can creatively incorporate AI into your projects - from your song projects to avatar building to face swapping, and more!

His latest video, Next-Level AI Music Editing with ACE Studio and Band-in-a-Box, he explains in detail how you can use the Melodist feature in Band-in-a-Box with ACE Studio. Follow along as he goes from "nothing" to "something" with his Band-in-a-Box MIDI Melodist track, using ACE Studio to turn it into a vocal track (or tracks, you'll see) by adding lyrics for those notes that will trigger some amazing AI vocals!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
