(warning headphone users, you might think my solos are a little hot in the mix
they sounded good in the DAW but once posted they sounded a just a bit hotter)

This is for the ones who think a decent song needs to have a guitar solo
(Dave (Blue Attitude), Peter F. and all youse out there)

Also, it's for J&B. I know that ya'll are busy clearing trees and brush
This is Janice's to record anytime she wants (this is just a rough demo)

As always thanks for listening, comments welcome, hope you like it

Just To Love Somebody
© 2017 Kenny Leverett

Oh honey
Tell me that you understand
You know it’s true, so true
Nothing ever goes to plan

Tell to leave
Beg me to stay
Call me a fool
I’m yours either way

Well I’m standing
Hanging outside your door
Don’t say that it’s over
Or that you don’t need me no more

Tell to leave
Beg me to stay
Call me a fool
I’m yours either way

Well I know it’s not enough
Just to love somebody
They surely, surely
Have to love you back
It’s never enough
Just to love somebody
Gotta keep that love
Runnin right on track

Don’t let the sun
Let the sun go down
Cause you’re gonna miss me
When I’m not around

Tell to leave
Beg me to stay
Call me a fool
I’m yours either way
Honey

Well I know it’s not enough
Just to love somebody
They surely, surely
Have to love you back
It’s never enough
Just to love somebody
Gotta keep that love
Runnin right on track

Never enough
Just to love somebody

Yeah! You had me hooked right from that opening riff.

Man, you are on a roll lately, just one good song after another!

Love your vocal in this, just the right amount of grit for the material.

Guitar sounded great, I enjoyed hearing you lay down some nice licks!

Good stuff Kenny, enjoyed the listen!

Kenny,

That is one hot vocal! You are giving Lawrence a run-for-his-money these days! Awesome!

Nice guitar work. The level works, I think - lively, has great feeling...

Nice rocker. (again...what a vocal!).

(I'm not a fan of a hard panned piano).

Excellent listen.

What a tune, Kenny! I love the groove of this one, it's easy to move to and the arrangements are flawless too. Plus, I found the lyrics to be very engaging!

Thanks so much for sharing smile

Kenny

That was really good!
Along with the excellent vocal & nice guitar solos it's just a rocking good song.(I think I posted a song once without a guitar solo!).

Kenny,

A very good rocker and not much to change to these ears, though no doubt Janice could add some cool harmonies on the chorus.
Your vocals get more edgy all the time and this one has a real one-take feel that needs no tweaking.
The solo is sweet!

Really like this song! Like the lyrics, and the energy. Like the raw vocals. Great job.

Thanks Dave,

much appreciated

glad you like my guitar licks, you and Peter are much better players

than me. I used to play thru a Marshall years and many clubs ago, it's

got a lot of bite.

Long live guitar solos!!!

thanks fj,

glad that you like the levels,

I like your ideas on mixing piano, I may redo this one,

but I like the live stage raw sound so it may stay this way.

I always appreciate your support and kind words

Hello Kenny,

How can a song this hot be so cool???

What a great listen! This is a great song. That intro was splendid ... caught me immediately. Love the bass line - perfect for a great Blues Rock tune. Your gritty voice sparkles, as usual.

No problem with the mix. Sounds fine to me.

Loved it! So cool it has frost hanging off of it!

Alan

Kenny,

Another strong rock and roll write.

Very infectious.

Great vocals.

Good job man. Kind of Van Morrison (early Van.)

Kenny, this is a winner all the way. Great rocker that had me from the git-go. Super chops man! Your vocal is top shelf for this genre.

This is a keeper for sure!

Somebody mentioned Van Morrison whom we've listened to for years. Yeah, you might be morphing into him smile This song really has a lot of his vocal feel...particularly of his recordings over the last decade.

If there was a genre called "infectious rock" you would own it!

"Also, it's for J&B. I know that ya'll are busy clearing trees and brush
This is Janice's to record anytime she wants (this is just a rough demo)"

Rough demo? Hahaha...this sounds like a polished rocker to me. Maybe add some harmony but, man, your lead is nailed. And you ain't no slacker on the axe.

Fun!!!!

J&B

PS: On the computer all day so far for the first time in days but now back to the woods smile

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
