After installing ptpa 2017 coyote wt disappeared and when I try to get it back. I get a message that the dll file is not valid. the vst plugin effects are not working, and I have a huge latency problem with my midi keyboard which I cannot resolve. non of these problems were there before the upgrade. I called tech support haven't heard back. Anyone else having problems with 2017upgrade?

What did you do to try to get it back?
CoyoteWT is a DXi plugin, not a VSTi plugin, so it should be registered in the Windows registry and should be automatically picked up by PowerTracks. Although glitches happen, you may need to rescan (there's a utility to do that on the DX/VST screen in PowerTracks).
Seems I also remember there is a text file (something like MaxDXiPlugins.txt, or something like that) that you can try to delete. It gets recreated the next time you launch PTPA.
I'll see if I can find that thread and post a link to it.
These were suggestions from Kent from PGMusic:
It sounds like you're using the "Add VST Plugin" command, and are getting the "Not a valid VST Plugin" message, which is true. Coyote make DXi synths, not VSTi.
If you hit the Options button in the Plugins window, you'll find "Scan for new DX Plugins" and "Register a new DX plugin" commands, that's what you'll use if they're not showing up automatically.
Also, is there a file in your PTPA folder called "MaxPluginsToScan.txt"? If there is, please close PTPA and delete that file, then see if the DX plugins then appear.

Thanks for the reply. No luck with the DX plug in scan. did a reinstall of powertracks and still no coyote, and none of the effect plugins work . Latency still a problem. I am wondering if my usb interface could have screwed things up - but I don't know how it could. Still waiting for tech support to get back to me... Guess I won't be able to finish the xmas project :-(

Did you try to reinstall Coyote?

yes, I tried to reinstall coyote -as well as all of ptpa. Here is the latest: I did so much messing around, that ptpa stopped responding -windows had me close the program. then when I reopened it coyote, and effect plug ins all were back in working order! Go figure? now the only problem is I am trying to record a drum track from my midi keyboard. I set the track up for midi channel 10 and patch for general midi drum kit -that use to work. but now I get the drum sounds AND piano notes being recorded. Does this have something to do with ports? I am using an audigy 5/rx soundcard creative synth as out put and input from the keyboard is an e-mu xmid 1x1. Thanks for the help

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
