Joanne Cooper wrote the lyrics, Band-in-a-Box Style 80s Pop Ballad Piano-all MIDI is providing the backing tracks, and I'm trying to sing. All constructive comments, good and bad, welcomed.

PS - If any of you real singers want to try this I will gladly supply the backing track and/or the BiaB file.

PPS - I though a paradox was two dox!

The Paradox of You

Listening to the pouring rain
I know the sun will come
Light from dark dry from wet
When wintertime is done

I see myself as the earth
And you the vast blue sky
Sometimes I keep you grounded
And you just let me fly

Chorus
I love it when we talk
I love the silence too
I love the yin and yang of life
The paradox of you

You are my harmony
the balance that I find
through the windows of my days
In corners of my mind

Sometimes you are the roots
growing in the night
Sometimes I am the leaves
bathing in your light

Chorus
I love it when we talk
I love the silence too
I love the yin and yang of life
The paradox of you

Bridge
In and out, hot and cold
Fear and courage, young and old
Good and bad, salty sweet
Up and down, messy neat

Chorus
I love it when we talk
I love the silence too
I love the yin and yang of life
The paradox of you

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Great to hear you sing. Enjoyed it all.

Well done Mario. This is another fine version using Joanne's words which shows how nice the words are. Listening to what different people are doing with one set of words really is brilliant.

A big thumbs up to your rendition Mario.

Mario,

You've done a great version of this song. You should sing more often!

Mario. Love it, love it!!!

As said by bob, you should definitely sing more often.

I would love to try and sing your version when I get back from my vacation. I am away skiing in France (snowed in today with winds of 90 km per hour and wind chill factor of-31 celcuis!).

Well done...we should do more of these...

You've captured a really good feel as the music bed for Joanne's lyrics. Enjoyed my listen.

Very nice, Mario. Your melody really fits the word styling well.

The chord change at the end of the chorus is a nice choice.

Thanx Bob. I'm more of an instrumentalist than a singer but who what the future will bring.

Thanx Joanne this means a lot to me. I just hoped to do a decent job on your great lyrics.

-31°C is what we up here in Western New York State call a little chilly whistle

When you get home send me an email and I will send you the BiaB file. Unless of course you can sing it in the same key as I did and you want the backing tracks then I will send you a MP3.

Thanx Scott. As far as my singing goes I really don't care for my vocals that much. I much prefer to play instrumentals than to sing. However with the encouragement I am getting I just my start to sing more.

Mario,
Really well done. Your mellow voice and simple arrangement suits the song.
I agree with Floyd-that unexpected chorus chord change is nice!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
