Hi All. Here is a song that I wrote during February but never got round to posting to the forum. I recently sent the BIAB RealTracks and the dry vocal recordings to my producer (Ogi Feel the Beat) who lives in Serbia and this is what he did with it. THE DAY YOU WENT AWAY The song is hosted on the new hosting site called Musicoin that you may have heard of being discussed on the Off-Topic forum. This is a revolutionary new hosting site where musicians are directly remunerated each time their song is streamed. I am very positive about this prospects of this site because my view is that we all need somewhere to "put" our music so that it can be heard and here is a good place as any (but may be better because of the fact that we get rewarded for our creative efforts, even if it is only a few cents!). I think it is like any thing else where you only get out what you put in. So to get results you need to participate in the community (they have quite a lively forum as well as competitions, artist and song of the week, remix challenges etc). If anybody is interested in signing up to Muscoin I would appreciate it if you would use my referral link. SIGN UP TO Musicoin In writing this song I tried to imagine what the next morning would be like if my partner left me (although "how" he leaves me is up to the listener's interpretation:) I wont answer the cell phone ringing The dishes lie dirty in the sink the dog is sleeping on your side of the bed I cant even clear my mind to think I wont throw out your toothbrush in the bathroom There's even some old clothes in a case The grass is growing high outside our bedroom door Theres never any laughter in this place I feel so shattered, falling into grief I feel so shaken, falling apart It was the morning when you went away autumn leaves falling when you went away I remember everything clear as the day the day you went away I wont clean the wine stains on the carpet I dont have to make the dinner anymore The cat is walking round wondering what he lost he'll go back to the way he was before I feel so broken, floating into grief I feel so beaten, falling apart It was the morning when you went away autumn leaves falling when you went away I remember everything clear as the day the day you went away The realtracks used are: RealTracks in style: 366:Bass, Electric, Country Ev 065 RealTracks in style: 891:Piano, Acoustic, Solo-Accompaniment PopLiverpool Ev 065 RealTracks in style: 870:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm ModernRnBRockWarmQuarters Ev 065 RealDrums in style: NashvilleBrushesBalladPushEv16: a: Sidestick, Brushes b: Brushes RT891:Piano, Acoustic, Solo-Accompaniment PopLiverpool Ev 06 Comments are always much appreciated.

Hello, Joanne
I thought it was a wonderful folky tune, and that your vocals' main character was demonstrated very well. Melody seems to come to mind naturally when reading your English lyrics. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Very nice work! It’s the first of your tunes that I’ve had the opportunity to listen to, and I look forward to hearing more. Vocal, arrangement, and overall tone of the song perfectly aligned. Good luck with this one!

I have yet to get a song to play from this site. An album pops out of the cover and spins but no sound.

Wow - you nailed this one! And your vocals are absolutely incredible here. Super powerful, and super impactful. The production is crystal clear too. This is the kind of tune I'd imagine hearing on the radio and it not sounding out of place one bit.
Great job, and thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

Joanne, the lengthy pauses in the delivery create great wonderful anticipation.
This is a great write all of the way through. The voice overlay reinforces dimension, and the build is just ever so subtle that it slots in perfectly with this excellent ballad.
Definitely one of your best, no question.

Hi Joanne.
Tried several times but like J&B it won't play for me. My PC plays all other sites I have tried. Do i need to sign up to listen or something? (not interested in signing up). Also where does the money come from? Is it just created out of thin air?
Cheers.

Joanne,
Nicely done, really like the piano in this one . . . haunting and sad, all accentuated by the soulful lyrics. Great harmonies on this as well, used wisely and effectively. Enjoyed my listen.
All the best,
Deej

It took multiple clicks before the song played. It's a lovely song, good write, well sung. The mix isn't quite my cup of tea, but that's probably just me. The drum seems out of place - it seems "disembodied" and unreal. I've probably heard the prior mix, and so I've already been spoiled. I love the Liverpool piano, but the way it jumps registers drives me batty - I really wish there were MIDI versions of all these piano tracks, because it would be so easy to fix in a MIDI editor. I've given up on being able to use some of those RealTrack pianos because of that. Which is a shame, because they're so nice. Again, maybe this is only a problem for me. But no matter what (minor) complaints I have about the mix - lovely song, good write, well sung!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
