Public domain songs have always been fair game in the User Showcase. It's always cool to see how different people interpret the same song. Totally agree John, it is public domain and in fact I think ANYTHING composed before 1923 is ok ? Anyway, I liked this, different but good

I think ANYTHING composed before 1923 is ok ? If in doubt, my guideline is pretty much this (from wiki): " In most countries the term of protection of copyright lasts until January first, 70 years after the death of the latest living author." And this song here certainly fell a long way past that! p.s. And yes, I know it can be a bit more complex (before any of you self-proclaimed "specialists" barge in here to note just that), and even different regions can have different definitions, such as with how I can as a european use the Happy Birthday song royalty free (as of 2017) whereas an american might not. But anyway, this one is safe and that's all I care about - End of story?

That was fun! I think it's cool that solos - which bear no resemblance to the melody - are automagically linked to the melody because we've been primed to hear it that way. I hadn't realized that the Clementine is the result of grafting, and so a sterile fruit. Quite unlike the result of what you've done here.

And we have a winner of the Geekiest Observation Comment award right there, brilliant! I hadn't realized that the Clementine is the result of grafting, and so a sterile fruit. Quite unlike the result of what you've done here. Ohh, that was indeed so clever of you the way you wrapped this one up - nice one, my friend!

Clever rearrangement of traditional songs are always fun.
And, man, did you every take this one to a new place.
We love the arrangement and it sounds outstanding on our monitors. Kudos on the mix.
And we concur with the above comments regarding the Latin-jazz format...More!
Well done.

Good information here: PD Info Lynn has kept me supplied in original reprints for years. I've been gratified watching that company and web site develop. PD is a passion, there, not an ego trip.

Eddie,
A very nice version of Clementines. I agree with Tangmo. A sweet latin-jazz variation, nicely re-harmonized and rhythmically reinterpreted. As John says, public domain songs have always been fair game in the User Showcase. And at the same time it is always very difficult to finish it up a wonderful work beyond the original. But I think you have accomplished that difficult task. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.
Shigeki Adachi

As a big admirer of your work, this means a great deal to me. thank you Mr. Adachi! p.s. I had rather promised myself to stop doing the "arigato" responses to you.. but you sure are making it very hard for me to resist the urge here

This is a sweet listen!! Glad to see you posting again! Thanks for that sentiment and glad you liked the song. p.s. I never went very far, took part in that latest Xtra Styles competition quite recently, for instance. Maybe I should just post those song in this forum too, now that the event itself is finished...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
