Couple small annoyances #1. started a new 4/4 tune after working on waltz. So my style was set jazz 3/4 waltz. I opened notation window - realized my mistake so I changed the style to 4/4, change the meter when tempo and key controls are. OK so now I see 4/4 in notation window. For about 8 bars. Then it changed back again to 3/4. Why?
#2. Lowest note I can input by mouse click in notation window seems to C4 (maybe B4). If I want A4 - no luck - I need to edit that note and set it to A4.

#2 is caused by whatever soft synth you're using to convert your MIDI to audio. MIDI is data, it doesn't care. However most soft synths are designed to emulate an instrument and if the instrument can't create a sound that low in real life then the soft synth likely will not generate the note.
Regarding #1 it reads like you likely have a mixture of new data and old data. One way to make sure this doesn't happen in the future is to use the command. "File" > "New" so the program can clear out any existing data prior to you entering new data.

Hi Woland,
1)Is there a Bar Settings change to a 3/4 style around bar 9?
2)You should be able to enter lower notes in the bass clef, just keep moving the mouse lower. There's a space between the clefs that you can't click notes into, that throws some people off. I can enter notes as low as D1, below the bass clef.
If you can't do this because you have guitar tab instead of a bass clef, hitting Opt to get to Notation Options and changing the Track Type from Guitar to Single Channel (normal) should take care of this.
Thanks Kent PG Musc

Thanks Kent PG Musc Hi Ken - no there was nothing in notation to set it to 3/4. I guess that was a minor issue just some parts of previous attempt at a tune hanging around. A bit confusing since I could not find anything that controlled that style change in UI. Notes lower that A or B4 are ongoing issue - the only workaround is to select not and edit it to go low. What is really confusing is that when you select Preferences/Notation/Track Type as "Guitar" then the lowest note is C4. Lowest note on guitar is written as E3 and sounds octave lower E2. The fact that you cannot write guitar part in a convenient way is IMHO a rather serious bug in BIAB.

Woland99, regarding #2): Maybe it's where you click the mouse? If you want to enter the notes in Band in a Box' system with violin and bass clef, you have to enter/click all notes lower than C4 in the lower bass clef system, no matter where you specified the split point. They will then appear at the right position. This is quite unusual and should be fixed: A note should appear were you click and expect it.
Biab/RB latest build, German Language Pak, Win 10/64 Pro, 1 TB SSD, 32 GB RAM. Notation SW Finale, StaffPad, SmartsScore – Playing Double Bass, Guitar, Piano

OK I see what you mean - for the purpose of editing notation the input setup used shows violin and bass clefs and you enter notes as if you were writing for piano. For the purpose of rendition you can select eg. Guitar and not Tab and you just get notes set up as on classical guitar score (although only in "output window). That is slightly confusing but OK it works and it is a good way for guitarist to keep bass clef reading skill sharp. I wonder if (for tab oriented folks) you can enter notes - like in Guitar Pro. Also - I wonder how useful BIAB would be to write out transcription. I usually start with pencil and paper but at some point it is nice to have real score. I do have Sibelius (simple version) and if I need to write any charts it is hard to beat as far as print quality and readability. But since Music XML seems to work ok as exchange format for both so perhaps BIAB could be a simple intermediate tool - eliminate need for pencil ;-)

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
