Yes rharv was good enough to send a link to a video he created. This is the link he sent.
http://www.masteringmatters.com/stuff/ACW_Tempo_Map_creation.avi
I think he posted some info in an earlier thread too. Maybe I can find that.

In an attempt to figure out how to create a brand new drum loop with a .wav file I recorded a bunch of tapping on a desk to simulate drumming. I recorded it in .wav format. I recorded it at speed 100 BPM. In reality a drummer friend who has been playing 50 years would create the .wav file with a micrphone using real drums, congas or bongos and he would send that .wav file to me. He would not want to play along with another drummer's loop.

I tried a bunch of things in BIAB and had no luck.

I might have found the solution in RealBand. I attached a picture of the part I found in the real band manual. I will get back to it and see if this is what I am looking for.

I was able to create a test percussion loop in RealBand and use it in BIAB. Here is the detailed info.

RealBand:
Note: there is help in the real band manual PDF. Just press ctrl+f to search for Acid Loop.
Create the loop in RealBand on a separate track. Play it against an existing BIAB file which has been imported into RealBand.
Record your click track on a separate track the normal way.
You need to highlight the loop from the end of the count in where the music starts and highlight at least 4 beats (it depends on what you want to do).
In the popup (that appears after you choose the directory and name) the speed must match what you recorded it at.
You set the time signature to the proper time signature you recorded it at.
Leave "One Shot" unchecked. I assume this is because you want to allow tempo stretch in BIAB.

BIAB:
Bring up any song at a reasonably close speed (maybe within 50 BPM).
Choose the track where you want to insert it.
Find the loop in BB\RealTracks\Metronome (or whatever). You can search by name to find it.
I chose to trigger the WAV every 4 bars (you can do whatever you want).
Make sure that "stretch tempo" is checked.
The tempo should be the original tempo (at least that worked for me)..
#beats to stretch can be 55 or whatever. If you apply it to a song much slower you may find it is not that accurate.
Uncheck "transpose" because it will be a drum loop or percussion loop. Your guitar click track is either (a "real track" or a "user track" you created yourself) rather than a loop.
Click regenerate and play so it picks up the new loop and plays it. Clicking play alone will not pick it up.

I cut the size of this post down and created a video instead. I created a new post so people are aware of it.

You can click this link to see the Youtube video I created on how to use RealBand to create a full chorus user loop (acid loop) of your playing to be used for your BIAB songs when BIAB can't generate tracks that cut it. It can be used for any instrument. The video is actually for members of my jam group but others can benefit from it too so figured I would post the link here. Besides the members of this forum are great and I figured I should give back. It took me 6 days to figure this out partly because of a bug in BIAB so it could be helpful for some people if they happen to land on this post. I ironically the bug in BIAB might have helped me since I don't think it is capable of creating an acid loop.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
