This is my new song for 2019. This sound is more an experimentation of effects. I have been shying away from the effects with the exception of the rock songs with Robert. Just using a hint of delay and compression. But this is a swing totally in the other direction. Very soothing! The change in guitar sound at 1:02 (and later) works nicely. Mix sounds good.

Scott, The new equipment has opened up your palette to some subtle colours. I particularly like the opening tone and then the change at 2:30. As always you bring a melodic feel to the strings. Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive...Some of that gear has interesting names!

Scott, that was really interesting. I thought the one at around 1:09 was really different sounding which I thought was nice and also the one at the end I've heard more of probably but liked it too. All were nice - I know nothing about guitar pedals.

Scott, classic rock lullaby! I do not even want to compliment individual parts as it sounds great as a whole. A very nice and gentle composition that is suitable for all ages.

Hi Scott,
This is significantly different from what I've come to anticipate from you. I really like that, with this composition, you've taken the opportunity to move outside of your comfort zone. The end result is definitely a worthy listen. I found it soothing and relaxing.
All the best, Noel

I need to get up to date on effects I guess! The only pedal I own is a Cry Baby Wha pedal that I've had for 30+ years, and the only one on your list that I have heard of is the compression pedal. Mostly I just use reverb, delay, and distortion but I add them after the fact.
Some cool sounds happening though! And as always, nice melodic playing.

I like the Marshall pic too
Kenny Thanks Kenny. The Marshall was a recent acquire. I had been looking for one for about 3 years. This model rarely becomes available. There have been a few in Ontario but cost prohibitive to switch. I did spend about 5 hours each way in the car on boxing day to pick it up tho :-) Glad you like the song.. Scott, The new equipment has opened up your palette to some subtle colours. I particularly like the opening tone and then the change at 2:30. As always you bring a melodic feel to the strings. Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive...Some of that gear has interesting names!
Robert Yes some of these pedals have some crazy names. Serious marketing going on.. Been having a lot of fun playing with these tones. The missus has been scowling the odd time when the volume gets a little up there :-).. Glad you liked the song..

New directions for 2019? Hope we hear more like this. The effects (I especially like the 00:01:20 area) produce a kind of dialogue. At least, that's the way my ear interpreted it -- a kind of call and response format, captivating. No one I know handles the melody improv quite like Scott C.

Scott, Very nice melodic piece. Relaxing and easy to listen to. That sparkle drive was my go to pedal when I played live. Like playing through two amps. One dirty and one clean. Good one, Tom

Sweet song....appropriately titled!! When I read your desciption, I thought you'd really get unhinged with the fx but they are pretty tame and well-applied. Melody is gorgeous, and I really like that synth percussive element. Enjoyed much!! Take care. Greg

Sounds great Scott. Beautiful tone.
Some effect around 2:50 makes it sound like it's clipping though. Hard to tell whether it is intentional or an actual clip.
But a great tune man.

Some cool sounds happening though! And as always, nice melodic playing. Thanks Dave for checking out the song. I didn't know very much about recording and daw's and plugins when I first started playing again. I didn't even know how to mike the amp. Do I use a shure mic with a converter mixer or a usb mike. Was very confusing. So I looked for way to get the old school tones at reasonable volume levels. A daunting task. Scott,

I am glad you mentioned how you achieved your live tone. I have been doing a lot of experimentation with using two amps. One dry one with effects. You keep getting better every time I hear one of your tunes! Thanks a lot Tommy. Your comments mean allot to me. Glad you liked the song.. Sounds great Scott. Beautiful tone.
Some effect around 2:50 makes it sound like it's clipping though. Hard to tell whether it is intentional or an actual clip.
But a great tune man. Thanks David for checking out the song. Interesting you mentioned the clipping. Pretty sure the clipping is coming from the wah. When I hold it in a certain spot it sure sounds like its clipping. Will play with it some more and see where that is coming from. Glad you liked the song. Scott,

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
