I posted it here, as nobody seems to read the wishlist:

Who wants the songpicker's old folder selection functions back?

1) YES
2) NO
3) MAYBE IF: ......

YES, YES, YES

At least we deserve a response of some kind from PGMusic.

I have been using BIAB since the days of floppy disks back in the 1990's and in my opinion this years update on the Song Picker has to be one of worst changes I have seen in the past 20+ years. I absolutely hate it. PGMUSIC has the opportunity to redeem itself by going back to the 2018 version of Song Picker. Keep everything else that came out in 2019 but please get rid it this abomination!

If you can't do that for your loyal user base, at least give us the following back:

1. The ability to sort on the columns.
2. The ability to remember the last used directory instead of defaulting to this thing called the "home folder".

So +1 for the yes.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I was also trying in vain to discover what happened to the sort functionality.

Please read ALL the comments about the SongPicker, not just the above.
I, for one, MUST have the feature back that plays the song when you click (or was is double click) on it.

Tony, I also agree. Double clicking on the song only loads it, it does not start the playback like it used to.

I'll take any version that can sort by columns. Its ridiculous that column sorting has been disabled. I don't like this "new feature" at all!

Yes. Absolutely! I have sent emails about this to Pgmusic. My main issues is that I want the ability in songpicker to type the first letter of a song and have it jump to the first song that begins with that letter. Like it used to! Playing live it cuts down on finding the next song greatly. Otherwise it's....scroll, scroll, scroll! It sucks! I have been told they ate aware of the problem. That was 3 builds ago!!!
Unlike some on here I am able to double click a song and it will start. Plus with all the crap at the bottom of the page there are fewer songs displayed. Bring back the old one or give me the ability to use the old one!

BTW if you know the name, or part of it, select any folder or couple of folders, and type it in: the find function works fine.

What I am seeing in the Song Picker is a Filter Function not a Find Function.

I think it now behaves differently for those of us who have selected "pause play until midi or key received" in the options. With the old version a double click on a song would load the song which would play as soon as I touched my keyboard. Now I have to do a second double click on the bar I want to start from before the song will play in response to my keyboard's first note.

Yes! !!! I don't understand why it was changed. Most aggravating.

I just read through all the posts previous to mine. It is unanimous. Bring it back!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
