I've been experimenting with using BIAB for creating guitar tabs of melodies. I am hoping to develop a workflow for moving melodies between BIAB and GuitarPro7 (A very good guitar tab editor).

So far I have had mixed success. For what it's worth, MusicXML is the best way to do it. As it maintains the actual tab below the sheet music.

Via MIDI doesn't work because neither program seems to fully support importing a midi file containing each string allocated with its own midi channel (11-16). They all seem to get bounced or misread. Furthermore this is complicated by Concert Clef and guitar music being written octave lower.

Strange as they both can export the feature and presumably utilise it.

Nonetheless MusicXML seems to work very effectively.

The Missing Feature/Tool

In the video below, at the time set in the link, the instructor talks about a feature to hardcode the tablature via the position set in the fretboard UI.

I don't seem to be able to find this anywhere within BIAB.

It would be really useful.

As I would be able to use BIAB guitar position tool to quickly find and select effective fingerings for each phrase. Hardcode it in. Then move on to the next phrase and repeat the process.
