In RB there is an Options - Resolution setting.
Simply put, setting this to as high as your computer can comfortably handle allows more accurate edits.

The four images below are audio, but technically it also allows more accurate MIDI edits.

These first 2 images below show my allowed starting point for my selection using the default 120 resolution setting; I can't grab the start point of the audio exactly where I want to (the arrow shows the desired start point).
The second 2 images show the accuracy of changing from a resolution of 120 to a resolution of 3840.
The last (4th) image is zoomed in to show that it even makes a difference on how much you can zoom in on a track to edit it when you increase the resolution. At 120 you can't zoom in this close at all.

Thought I'd share in case it helps others.

I did not know this setting had any effect besides MIDI. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, this setting is important during audio editing also, especially when you need to be a bit more surgical/exacting.

Glad it helped.

This is a VERY useful RealBand tip because the setting is so easily misunderstood or overlooked.

Misunderstood because most users would think Resolution is a MIDI only setting and does not apply to audio. Overlooked for the same reason.

In my forum responses I frequently suggest users change Resolution. I try to remember to credit rharv for the initial inspiration.

The only downside is that it makes the math a little more complicated for some things (like working with delay units that use milliseconds or working in odd times), which is why I created this handy 'music calculator' -

Thanks, rharv. Like Matt, I was unaware that this affected audio, too.

This is very useful information.

Good on you for posting this here!

As I mentioned in my post-2019-release rant, the ability to change resolutions in RB is one of my favorite things about this year's updates...and I barely even use RB!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
