A "classic Country duet".

So, I asked my classy Country duet partner to join me for this...

LOVERS' LEAP

in the morning you don't touch me
i don't say goodbye
no notes left on the table
but i can read the signs
what have we gone and done
to this thing we once called love
we were in this together
now what are you thinking of

i don't want to lose you
put your hand in mine and close your eyes
love is a leap of faith
take a lovers' leap with me tonight

we share the sunday paper
but forget to share a kiss
after all we've had together
how'd we ever come to this
there're things we ought to say
we don't say them anymore
how do we find the feelings we were feeling
when we fell in love before

i don't want to lose you
put your hand in mine and close your eyes
love is a leap of faith
take a lovers' leap with me tonight

put your trust in me
it's not too late
we'll put our hearts together
put the pieces back in place
then step off into space

i don't want to lose you
put your hand in mine and close your eyes
love is a leap of faith
take a lovers' leap with me tonight
love is a leap of faith
take a lovers' leap with me tonight

Floyd / Janice,

This is one, if not the most beautiful song I have heard on the forum... It is a tremendous song and the performances are incredible.

This should be Number 1 on the charts - it's that good.

Outstanding!

floyd / Janice

Classy indeed! A beautiful production with flawless vocals superbly harmonized.
Love how you two synchronize so seamlessly.
As you say a classic number, with all the elements in place.
A real showcase for the talent on the forum.
Excellent.

From the opening, it sounds excellent.

The lyrics proclaim it's classic country, the vocal pairing is excellent - of course. Janice is superb as always, and I love the cry in your voice.

Great writing, arrangement and chorus. Piano is especially good.

Love it. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

FJ,
This is probably one of the best duets with Janice from your collection.
Well thought out piece lyrically and musically. Janice is loud and clear on this smile Duet choruses are very strong! Mixing & production is top notch. Congrats to both of you + Bud.

Thank you for sharing!

My heavens Kenny, thank you! I thought it was a great write too and I’m delighted to be part of it. I came to tears when I first heard floyd sing it.

Wow!

This has to be my new favorite song from you, man those vocals! And then when Janice comes in ..... goosebumps!

Possibly the best country song ever posted on this forum, pure perfection from the write, the performance, and the production.

One to be proud of, well done you two!!

Such a sad emotional song. Lyrics were so well done. Loved the vocals. Both added so much lament to the song. As Peter said "Classy". Loved the way the song . Vocals were so clear. Well done....

I could well imagine both of you sharing the same vocal booth...looking into each other's eyes with a mixture of regret and hope. Bud's at the control booth, being all professional and stuff. You're singing the hopes of millions, whether their situation has been a lapse or long-term. Your voices blend and "fit" so well, one to the other.

And I come in to take out the garbage, listen a while and say, "Yep."

Hard to imagine a better song. Way to turn that title phrase into a love song.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
