Kenny,
This is the way Good Easy Southern Rock is written!!.. Has the flavor of Neil Young at his peak - or BETTER than than! Love it.
Cool opening. Good band. Nice solo...
Another good vocal (the highs could be rolled off a bit. It's a little "crispy"). Cool BGVs.
"Cooks fried chicken And good cornbread That you’ll crave for the rest of your life"
Oh, yeah.
Worth many listens...

Kenny, I agree with Floyd about the Neil Young comparison! The melody in the chorus is hit making material IMHO!! This one is without a doubt my favorite of anything I've heard of yours!! Thanks, Torrey

Kenny, You had me singing along on the chorus - love the rolling beat and that ( phased?) baritone guitar. I like the description of this girl -she sounds as cool as your song!

Another nice one Kenny... Good lyrics... I really liked the line... Cooks fried chicken And good cornbread That you’ll crave for the rest of your life A nicely penned line to which "Southern" folk can relate. I enjoyed this one!

Nice one..chorus is Brilliant, lyrics strong write, vocals are strong clear and suit this genre to a T.
I agree with Floyd on the brightness, and I found it a bit busy instrument wise.
Your voice would have been more prominent with less going on, as you have a strong clear vocal so why bury it.
This is a constructive critique and I hope you take it as that.
Enjoyed this.
Thanks

What a tune! I really liked it - I enjoyed the groove, and it gave me a nice 90's rock vibe. Your vocals are definitely a standout and I thought there was some awesome progression. Loved the hook too. Nicely done - thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

fj Thanks Floyd, I never thought of Neil Young but Southern Girl/Southern Man... i think the lyrics are a little corny and the vocal is so so the vocal mix sounds good to me which says that I'm not hearing what you do and now Beatmaster too this is a problem that I've repeated too many times here I'm gonna give some serious thought to just stopping.

Thanks Hey Beatmaster, Thanks for the listen and kind words, not offended but noooooooo!!! let me indulge by piling on the tracks, I usually do sparse arrangements I want this to sound like a train comin' thru there are some dynamics with things dropping in and out I noticed the Soundcloud visual looks almost maxed out all thru, maybe it normalized (whut) when it also messed up my lead vocal! thank you for the compliments

Cheese, jalapeños and some sorghum syrup to dip it in Great vocal and excellent use of that Brent solo...really works well...like it was played for the song. And the write? Well, we're southern born and southern bred -- for better or worse so we gotta love it! Cool bro.... J&B

Hi Kenny ...
I'm married to one of them, although I'm one of those damned Yankees (St. Louis)! And you;re right about the cornbread. I like miner with a good amount of honey and way too many jalapenos. Than eat it with a lot of butter slathered all over it.
Loved the song! You never disappoint, my friend! Waiting to click onto one of your songs for the first time reminds me of when I was a little kid and someone handed me my first Christmas present - joyous anticipation. Keep writing & singing and I'll keep listening.

Great stuff, Kenny!
Love the opening with the B3.
Great opening lines to set the mood:
"Raised to respect But still just a little bit wild All grown up But to me she’s a woman child"
Man, I wish I had a small fraction of your writing skills.
And of course that signature vocal is the icing on the cake.
Very much enjoyed!

Kenny, I know Soundcloud is the nearly ubiquitous streamer for this forum but perhaps try a different streaming service or upload with a screensaver type visual to YouTube With Utub you'll have more control over the quality of the playback and therefore fewer issues as a result. Or "master" with a little less level so that SC doesn't do damage. OR, better still, upload an MP3 or .wav file for folks to download and enjoy as you hear & intended.

Very enjoyable pop americana, the chorus melody is especially nice. I have no idea of any southern girls, but the story is easy to follow anyway Great sounding solo and your voice fits like a glove for this type of song. Janne

THIS is what I responded to 44kfl. To it I offered "I know Soundcloud is the nearly ubiquitous streamer for this forum but perhaps try a different streaming service or upload with a screensaver type visual to YouTube With Utub you'll have more control over the quality of the playback and therefore fewer issues as a result. Or "master" with a little less level so that SC doesn't do damage. OR, better still, upload an MP3 or .wav file for folks to download and enjoy as you hear & intended." I made no other reference because you would have had an idea of what I'd say about the vocal - and it had been diplomatically addressed by fj.

Loved this tune Kenny. Another super vocal and loved the background. Loved the way you slip from one genre to another makes your music so interesting. I got a Neil Young vibe as well. Guitar was perfect for the tune. Lyrics were very cool. Well done

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
