It’s hard to go through all the forums that exist, skipping most that are not relevant to me. It’s worst doing this on my iPhone, which I most frequently use to read here.
Can I flag the ones I want to see, or exclude? It seems like it might be possible, given that Categories like International can be hidden.
Just a thought. Thanks.

Yes, I think so, but haven't tested.
Go to the forums you want to check.
Use the Forum Options Drop Down to make them a 'watched forum'.
Then set your Preferences - Default Starting View to use the My Watched List view.
Let us know if that works for you.
Make your sound your own!

I just tried this and it did not work. It only put a magnifying glass on the ones the I marked at as watched forum.

Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Yeah, finally got home and had time to test .. same result as Mario; it doesn't hide unwatched forums but rather marks the watched ones with a magnifying glass.

I couldn’t make it work, either, after exploring settings and filters I had never seen. But thanks for trying!

I think that it is suppose to work but there appears to be a broken link. Left click on the magnifying glass and you will see an option to "Stop watching this forum". But when you click on it you get the following error "File not found: scripts/editnotify.inc.php".
If you go back to your preferences and reset your Default Starting view to traditional forum view you still have the magnifying glasses.
{EDIT} I just sent an email to support with a link to this thread. I think we should find out if this is a bug or not.

I just know that I only check certain ones daily and others weekly..... so I know approx where to look. Not too much of a big deal.
BECAUSE..... if you could hide the ones you don't normally see, you might miss something interesting in them. Occasionally, I do drop in and stalk the other ones.

Like Matt, the issue isn't so much knowing where to find the ones to look at, but to swipe swipe swipe on the phone to get there. Looking for a shorter list to choose from, is all.

I do realize I would run the risk of overlooking something.
I want this for my iPhone. I attempt to get to beginners especially fast. When on the desktop, less frequently, I will browse more fully and leisurely. Thanks again.
