Hello Floyd and Janice,

I listened to this very nice song some days ago. Immediately liked it.Thought I gave a reaction, but saw now I didn't. Not even on SC.
Must have been distrackted.
The setup of this song is simple but comes in very good. And you two perform very good in it (do I sound a bit jealous? Naw, can't be...).
I only miss that pedal steel (joke),

Hans

Love that, and all the finely drawn images that let you know the experience behind the message.
I don`t listen to much country but a good write sticks... listening to your first verse I flashed back to Guy Clarke`s "Stuff That Works"- this is up there with that craftsman.
I agree with all the good stuff others have noted about your vocals,Janice`s harmonies, the arrangement and production values.

Robert

Thanks Robert!

And what a privilege and honor it must be to have Janice on the BG vox. There's no better harmony singer on the site that comes to mind.

As always, your mix is superb. And your vocals ain't to shabby, either! Great stuff, you two. What a treat!

Alan

Alan, that was so sweet of you to say that. I do appreciate it very much.

A super arrangement and I DID love the cymbal fade right at the end of the track - nice attention to detail, that.

Cheers, ROG.

Thanks ROG. Good to see you around again...

Your productions and mixes are always such a pleasure to listen to, lot's to learn from studying them. They way you slowly build the first verse with just the acoustic, and then bringing in the kick ... great! And then that little cymbal hit at the end, I love hearing stuff like that.

Excellent!

Thanks, Dave. Really appreciate that...

And I experienced the same as Jim: I was sort of sunk in listening and reading the lyrics - all of a sudden there was Janice falling in with her beautiful harminies - oh boy, no matter how often I hear her - it's always a treat. And your two voices really go together so well...

Nicely arranged, of course brilliantly-sung, too. And I have to mention the lyrics again: a well-chosen subject (which I have never heard being sung about) oiled down to an essence, Very impressive.

Oh yes: sound, mix and everything technical: top-notch. Like always....

Cheers,

Stefan

Stephan - thanks for the nice review..

We went to the airport, hopped on a plane and landed in SC. It had all of what you would expect in a flight. The check-in, the waiting, close proximity to others, trying to find luggage...all that kind of thing. Not overly pleasant at all; but we got to our destination.

When I was a senior in high school we decided to head back to SC. We decided to drive this time. I knew where we were headed; and sort of knew how we would get there. What I didn't know was how exciting that trip was going to be. We took many "back roads" and just really took in the country. I saw so many cool things that I wasn't expecting to see. Even a fair number of waterfalls and mountains that would take your breathe away with their beauty. This trip at a very minimum was as good as getting to our destination. I find that to be unique.

That is what your song just did for me. I had a rough idea where I was going to be taken; but was amazed by the path you took us on to get there. Thank you!

HTL - Like Greg (above) you have composed a delightfully thoughtful review... Thanks so much for that...

Hugely enjoyed this.

Floyd,

Without a doubt this is my new favorite from you...

The feeling and pacing of this song works so well. Some really beautiful vocals from you both you and Janice. Outstanding mix - just the best.

"any pair of levis
or dan post boots
a martin d45
putting down roots
mama's cast iron skillet
a montana mustang
a good bottle of red
in time they're all a beautiful thing"

Wow.. it's hard to get better than that...

Bob

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
