Hope y'all will indulge me, I'm going to post two harmonica instrumentals. This first one is with the JAZFRED RS and I'm playing a chromatic harmonica. It's a blues, but jazz's version of the blues. The one I post after this will be more of a straight blues with the little 10 hole harmonica.

That's some seriously good harmonica playing. Well done.

Gotta agree with Ghostgum ... some real serious harmonica playing. Perhaps just a touch of reverb might have been a good thing. But, I assure you, it's dang good as is! Great stuff .. loved it!

Cool playing but there's some crackling going on under the harmonica lines for the 1st minute in particular - did it record dirty or is it triggering something?
I like a smidgen of delay on those things but you'll have to sort out the crackle 1st.

Cheers

Hi Tunemonger,

I know that this is not a good charcter trait, but I have to admit that all my life I've envied people who can play the harmonica, even if they played it less well than you do.

But the way you play is so top-notch - really enjoyed the listen a lot, love the jazzy vibe.

Looking forward to MORE !!!!

Take care,

Stefan

Ive' always enjoyed harmonica music...
Perhaps because I remember hearing "Peg O' My Heart" being played at my grandparents home...
I can only imagine how difficult a chromatic harmonica can be to master...
I will look forward to hearing the other version.

TuneMonger, I wish I could play one of those! I'll just have to do a cheap imitation on a keyboard for now! Great job on the tune! I love Jazz and it sounds like you do too! Thanks, Torrey

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Real nice feel for jazzy blues on that harp. Looking forward to hearing you play the 10-hole.

What a tune! As others said, your harmonica playing is superb here. I also loved the groove and the backing instrumentation you chose for this one. Really easy to follow, and makes for an engaging and fun listen.

Great work and thanks for sharing smile

Coool jazz blues.
Excellent, smooth playing!
Only thing, there are minor audio artifacts on the record, but I think it actually sounds interesting, gives sort of vintage sound to this tune.

P.S. I picked up an older Hohner super chromonica at local flea couple of weeks back. (could not resist) Cleaned it... have no idea how to play it. Your tune is very inspirational, will try to understand how it works.

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Thanks to all for the encouraging words. Thanks also for the technical tips, they are appreciated just as much. I'm still sorting things out, hopefully I will figure out the noise problem.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
