a little experiment ,this was only taken to my DAW ,to add the vocals.i mixed everything in house. I think this shows the quality and diversity if BIAB.

u gave up lying
u gave up drinking
u gave smoking
and using too

u gave up evrything
that you every wanted
but honey i never gave up on you

u gave up fighting
u gave up dyning
u gave up praying
on that ole wooden pew
u gave up evrything
that you every wanted
but honey i never gave up on you

chorus

i never gave up on you and me
the good the bad
the dont agrees
the times we shared
when we were so in love

i never gave up on what we had
cos even when you made you mad
you could see in my eyes
that i was still in love

im gonna be right here
in everything you do
and honey
ill never give up on you

you gave up dreaming
u gave up hoping
u gave up laughing
and smiling too
u gave up evrything
that you every wanted
but honey i never gave up on you

chorus

i never gave up on you and me

We enjoyed the classic sound of this production with the vocal performance and the write.

The mandolin added a nice touch.

Melancholy yet with uplifting overtones.

Thanks for sharing.

I'll call that experiment an unqualified success. laugh

Good classic country write. Nice job singing - nice and emotive.

I love the hold at the end of the verse, and the mandolin solo.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

The vocal sits above the backing which is fine as it suits the style and the vocals/lyrics/melody are strong enough to carry the attention.
There seems to be a different reverb between the backing & vox but it's REALLY hard to match BIAB reverbs.
There's some mouth noises, other than singing, that could be muted - just the odd dry smack etc.
Nice song.

Cheers

Really well done! A really solid classic-sounding country tune. Checks all the boxes for me - strong vocals, classic country subject matter, nicely catchy and a good mix.

Not too shabby for an experiment - great work! Thanks for sharing smile

Hey Brad,

This song is really good. Liked it a lot. Super lyrics.

I want to apologize for being so absent from the forum. Also, I will be candid that this part of the post is kind of a generic “form letter” to my old and new forum friends.

In brief, work is very hectic right now and I am having a hard time keeping up with the forum and even writing new songs. There is also a lot of new material hitting the boards—more than I can listen to and reply. People are on a roll!

Instead of backing away from the forum I want to stay involved by just giving the equivalent of a “like” as opposed to full-fledged commentary.

This way, I can just keep listening, and enjoying and reply with a simple LOVE IT or something like that.

I do listen, love your stuff and really want to continue following those who are so dedicated to encouraging others, even if it is only with one word.

Hope this makes sense, thanks for your artistry and forgive my brevity going forward with massive time constraints.

Also forgive me if you see this message more than once until I know I have covered all my bases.

Peace!!

smile

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
