https://audiomack.com/song/jamesdelsono/on-the-edge-of-paradise-blues-versionA genuine testament to the powers of Band-in-a-Box. All I did was write the chords and find the RealStyle I thought suited the track best - et voila'! Big shout out and a total " hats off" to the Harmonica player - his/her playing, for me, made this track (the playing throughout BIAB is, of course, always genuinely stellar!). Nicely done James It flows really well, and I thought the mix job was top notch. The harmonica was a nice touch, and it is definitely a step outside what I'm used to hearing from you, and that's isn't a bad thing. The blues elements worked perfectly. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

Thanks Deryk! Yes, it's exactly as you say - a step outside from my usual fare, so I'm glad you liked it! I am consciously trying to step outside of my normal writing "comfort zone", so it's good to know it's somewhat working, haha. Thanks again.

Hi James,
yes, no matter how often one has worked with BIAB - it's like a miracle everytime one works his way through the styles.
You really tickled a lot out of it, James. A very enjoyable listen.
Cheers,
Stefan

Thanks Stefan. Here, as you can no doubt tell, the RealStyle did most of the work - as I said above, I just had to write the chords and find the right RealStyle for them. The rest - hats off to the BIAB musicians! I'm just happy the end result is what it is, though, because I do think it came off ok - and, if people enjoy it, I'm happy :-) Cheers.

Hey, that's a cool illustration of the power of our always available "bands."
Nothing like exploring some new territory and, man, does BiaB ever invite you do that!
Nice mix also.
Enjoyed it...

Thanks Janice & Bud - it was fun to "push the limits" a little and see what BIAB and I could come up with! Glad you enjoyed it :-)

Hello, 'musician17'... 'On The Edge Of Paradise' rolls out just the right mix of medium-slow-cookin', funky blues, wholly aided and abetted by the groovy Real Tracks that suck the sweetest musical juices out of your finger-lickin' good chord changes. You're right about the harmonica player's solo Real Track -- Mr. L.D. Miller, perhaps? He had so much to 'say' that I was sorry to hear the song fade out. Thanks for the generous helping of soul sauce, musician17 !!! - bluage -

The harmonica playing is really great, but so is the rest of the song! Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Ember

Thank you so much, everyone. You're all way too kind!
bluage: Yes, that harmonica player ... I'm still astounded by their skill :-) I'm not 100% sure about the chord changes - I wrote this track in another style at first, and then switched it up to Blues, so I can't help thinking I should have adjusted some chords a little more (just a little, here and there, that's all) to account for the new Blues style? But - it seems to work "as is", so I'll leave it thus for now? haha. And yes, the RealTracks collaborate big time in making the track what it is ... a joy to work with!!! Thanks, bluage ... I'm still grinning from your wonderful comments.
Ember: you're very kind, thank you - and thanks for listening!
Misha: thanks! Since I can't really sing very well, I try to keep my singing voice out of things as much as possible, haha. But yes - maybe something could have been added vocally, just to provide the icing on the cake, as it were? Then again, too much sugar and all that ... hmmm, haha. Thanks for your very nice comments and thank you for listening!

Hi James,
Once again you deliver the proverbial 'goods'. This is a terrific listen. That chord progression you chose certainly delivered a terrific work.
I thoroughly enjoyed where you music carried me.
Thank you! Noel

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
