Been using my system this morning for several hours with no issues. The I logged onto the Forum and saw there was a 632 to 633 update. Downloaded it, install it and completely shut my system down for a cold restart.
After the re-start, none of my external synths higher banks would load correctly, including on songs previously saved. All higher bank sounds referenced the name, patch number, MSB and LSB of the GM patches and played the correct GM sound but not the higher bank sounds.
Even on previously saved songs, I could not change the higher bank patches.
What I did trying to solve this:
1. Completely shut down the system including all external synths, their GUI's, my audio interface, my MIDI interface and the computer and re-started - no change
2. Deleted all my PAT files and redid them converting from known .INI files to .PAT and re-loaded them....no change
3. Re-set BIAB 633 and returned to factory settings, deleting all settings, PAT files and MIDI settings, brought the system back up - no change
4. Deleted the drivers on my audio interface, MIDI interface and the external synths and reloaded from the manufacturer's sites - no change
Finally, I downloaded update 632 from the PG site and reloaded that. Now everything is back to normal. Can easily select higher banks from the external hard synths and soft synths.
Has anyone else noticed a problem with 633 regarding higher banks?
Hold on.....could be another thing here. When I went back and reloaded 632 I checked how a few songs were saving. Noticed that under "FILE", "SAVE SPECIAL", "SAVE SONGS WITH PATCHES & HARMONY" the "SAVE/LOAD THRU SETTINGS WITH SONGS" was not checked.
I think not checking this could have caused the initial problem. Perhaps 633 resets that....not sure. Not going to reload 633 until I get some feedback from other forum members.
Yes indeed I can confirm that 633 does not send the req LSB for the higher bank voices in fact it does not change from 0 . you can see that the voice in the mixer does no change as well. I always do this test on the thru track just to make sure by listening. And it don’t work.
Strangely it will send any MSB variations .
It nearly the end of September and there are still problems with 2019 version. The 2020 version will soon be upon us , so I hope they get this one up to decent state before abandoning it for next years latest greatest. I may well think twice about updating every year this year has not been good.

I'm just trying to understand this. In my testing I do see the MSB/LSB bank displayed in the mixer, and I see the messages being sent when I press Play. Are you guys not seeing that, or are you talking about something different?
Trying to set a higher bank voice from a pat file like XG If I click on the mixer track for say the thru voice and select higher bank from patch file and choice say piano and strings from the acoustic piano section this is msb 000 lsb 040 patch 1 the voice does not change in the mixer track and stays at 000 000 001 Also the data in the patch display window does not change. Even if I press send or ok. Mike
PS It appears to be confined to voice patches that require a LSB value 0 lsb and any msb changes still work.
If you insert the lsb 40 in the box manually at this page it does update the mixer and works .So it seems that it is not accounting for the lsb in the patch file.

Yep, definitely seems to be a problem with 633. Reloaded 633 again and had the same problem. Reset again to factory settings, redid .PAT files...no change....higher patches do not load. Reinstalled 632...no problem.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
