It's been about 3+years away from biab and need to relearn some stuff like user tracks. For those who have heard the Chapman stick being played, it's quite an amazing instrument.Has anyone tried to make a user track? The next thing, is it possible to take an audio recordings, such as instrumental songs(Chapman Stick) and derive enough chord info to create a user track of any quality? My last biab version is 2017, is there any changes in user tracks in 2019? Thanks Wyndham
Download the file to your computer desktop screen. Once the file is downloaded there's two things you need to do, rename the file and decompress the file. The steps are below.
Rename the file:
Click on the file one time. The file icon and name will be highlighted but did not open.
Press F2. That is a shortcut to the rename file command. A window opens around the filename and the filename is highlighted.
Use the right arrow key to remove the filename highlight and move the cursor to the right side of the 4 in the mp4 part of the filename.
Press the backspace key four (4) times so it deletes the "4", "p", "m" and "." from the filename.
Press "Enter". The filename should now be "Chapman_Stick_SFZ.zip".
Here's how you decompress the file.
Click on the file 1 time to highlight the file.
Right click on the file to open a submenu window.
Select the "Extract All ..." command.
Press the "Extract" button.
The decompressed UserTrack folder will be created on your desktop.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
