The Devil's got my Soul (2019, Christiane Spruit)

V1)
There's fire in your eyes
burning in my soul
The way you walk into a room
And I know it ain't wise
But I lost all my senses, and I lost all of control
the devil got my soul

V2)
Too close to the heat
it will burn my skin
but the way you look
with a sinners grin
and I lost all of my resistance
and I know, I ain't wise

The devil got my soul

V3)
I don't know what to do
everything in me wants you
the sky ain't fallin' but a fool will do
And I lost all my senses, and I lost all of control

Outro: The devil got my soul

Hi Dave and Chris,

When hearing this, it wasn't the devil that got my soul, but a bunch of angels!
Very strong Blues. Liked it immediatly. The sologuitar did a very nice job.
And Chris was acting as one of the angels that take hold of my soul. Wonderful!
And after that song, another great bluessong of you started playing: Here's to you!
Great listening those songs after one another! Valentines Way has to compete more and more against excellent songs from you!
but it is still the winner, but close. Too close.

Very nice work from the two of you!

Hans

Dave & Chris,

Another good Blue Rock number.

All parts of the band sound good. Drums and bass are tight. Vocals sits in the mix well. The fills/solos really shine on this - great tone and playing.

Cool ending.

Y'all have had one heck of a year!!

More great blues from a great duo. Tracks are so pro. Liked the ending, and everything that came before it.

Dave / Chris

A professional sound, some excellent blues singing, loved the outro, and fluid, melodic, blues guitar fills and solo.

Another winner among many.

Great work.

Yet another fantastic musical journey. This is very professional but not in a cold, clinical way.
Chris's sultry vocals and your (Dave's) smouldering lead guitar make this one hellishly hot track.
Love the lyrics too. A couple of standout examples: "sinners grin" and "the sky ain't fallin' but a fool will do".
Thanks for sharing this.
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Dave & Chris,

you really keep 'em coming ....!

That's a terrific blues number and there isn't a thing about it that I wouldn't like an awful lot.

Chris, you sure got the hang of singing the blues, no doubt about that. And, Dave, your tasteful guitar playing and choice of tone is always a special treat.

It sounds good, because it simply IS good.

Take care,

Stefan

Another excellent tune Dave! Really enjoyed your solo work before verse 3. You balanced the guitars very nicely with the rest of the music. Really like your choice on the electric piano, that fit the song perfectly. Of course the lyrics/vocal from Chris are spot on like usual.

Keep 'em coming, I can't get enough! smile

This is really great. Excellent blues, and the delivery is superb.

Instrumentation is perfect and fits in so well. I really like the breaks. Gives added dimension.

Dave & Chris,
Drum intro had me swaying and when Chris comes in I close my eyes and enjoy the sultry ride.
Another blues rocker knocked out of the park- very, very good!
Interesting to hear that el.piano sitting high in the mix-sounds so good with the guitar solo.
Long may you run Blue Attitude... you guys are proof that the line between home studio and professionally produced music has all but disappeared.

Your non solo licks could use a little more level - they're cool & need to be heard.
the rest of the arrangement is cool - I wondered about the Rhodes up the middle at 1st but it doesn't get in the way so it well placed.
Vocals? She does this stuff really well.

Cheers

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
