Hi VT - actually not so big a problem for us guitarists. We grab these chords off of the root notes but for someone who has played this song for years it caught my attention immediately.
More of a problem is that the chord cannot be manually changed. When I retype Dbm7b5 to C#m7b5 it just changes it back to Dbm7b5. So the chord chart in the VST will not allow me to type in a C#. On the other hand, BIAB will allow me to enter the chord as a Db or C#. Just need a bit more love from our programmers for the VST.
I'm not at my computer to test but try changing the key sig to G since that's what the actual chart is. Bob
Thanks, thats a good idea. I think I did try it and it was a bust, but I honestly don't recall. But alas the weekend is over and it is back to the day job. I will report back when I get time.

BiaB allows entering and displaying Db and C#, iff transpose mode is deactivated. With transpose options set to some non concert instrument, BiaB does not allow simultaneous display of C# and Db for whatever unknown reason.

So I changed to Key G instead of Em. This changed all the chords and left me with a mess.

Ya, it is confusing indeed. This appears to have carried over into the VST also.
What kind of a mess? I used to test relative minor/major key changes and they worked fine. Is this a new songfile you created or a downloaded one?
Bob
Bob, this is a standard BIAB mgu file of Autumn Leaves which was developed years ago. When I adjust the Key from Em to G. All the chords change. The opening Em changes to Gm and I assume the remaining changed accordingly.. That immediately confused me (that was the mess).
I am thinking I should know enough about the musical theory to understand what happened, but just don't have time to wrap my head around this one at this time. Perhaps I should have expected that?? I just wanted to change the chords to eliminate the enharmonic designation not change the key.
I absolutely love when pre-release versions are available to users to check if fixes are available. Please make a standard mechanism to have these "pre-release" versions accessible to us. I promise I will never complain if something get broken due to using a pre-release as I am always willing to run at risk.
Martin, I have it working in BIAB VST. It is tricky but there is a lot more options under the hood in the newer version then in the past. So a lot more clicking to be done.
The trick was to unselect the Transpose button. Then change the key to G and then I could type in any cord I wanted including Db or C#. Or something like that. These were options I was not aware were here in the past, but they seem to do the trick. It helped to read the new posting where the 49 items in the VST are now listed.
I have to say that this release is very solid there are a few nagging things that Adar and the BBW team are working out but it is very good so far. I believe a couple more releases and its going to be very powerful.

I still struggle with the green, the blue and the red. And the sync with Reaper transport versus the VST transport. Still trying to learn the "Pipeline code". Seems to only play from the VST transport when the Master is playing. If you remove or mute the Master all goes silent unless you make the tracks green and then you can only hear them in the Reaper transport. Or something like that... it just needs to be more intuitive and simple for me. My problem solving skills have deteriorated with age.
But, yes, this is all in the right direction. I appreciate the love the VST is getting.
I'm just waiting to start using the Plugin when the buttons get fixed and a simple drag the track name to export. Mario will be able to see the mute/play solo as they have a letter rather than just colors that are hard to distinguish.
Pipeline, how would you drag all the tracks under that theory? If you Drag the master to get all, then there is not combined master track. Maybe like reaper a pop up box that say single or individual tracks?

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
