PG Music gestaltet Ihrer Upgradepolitik total liberal. Hat man einmal eine Vollversion gekauft, kann man jedes beliebige Upgrade-Variante kaufen - klasse.
Welches Upgrade ist aber für mich das richtige?
Ich nutze die vielen Demos und Styles aus dem UltraPAK und denke, dass dies für mich die richtige Version ist.
Meine Historie war bisher:
Band-in-a-Box 2014 MegaPAK PC, dt.
Band-in-a-Box 2016 UltraPAK HD-Ed. PC Upg./Crossg., dt.
Band-in-a-Box 2019 UltraPAK HD-Ed. PC Upg./Crossg., dt.
Explizit auf die deutsche Version zu warten ist nicht notwendig, weil die deutschen Sprachfiles und deutschen Handbücher im Frühjahr kostenlos nachgereicht werden. Ist das richtig?
Jedes Jahr das UltraPAK Upgrade zu kaufen ist unnötig, weil nach einem Jahr letztendlich nicht soviel neue Demos und Styles hinzukommen.
Für mich stellt sich nun die Frage, wie ich
Band-in-a-Box 2019 UltraPAK HD-Ed. PC Upg./Crossg., dt. und
Band-in-a-Box 2020 Pro PC Upg./Crossg., engl. nutzen kann.
Wie kombiniere ich die aktuelle Programm-Version mit den Demos und Styles aus dem früheren UltraPAK ?

Hallo Triangle,
ja, die deutschen Sprachfiles werden später kostenlos bereitgestellt. Bis dahin bleiben mit einem Upgrade deiner 2019er Version die alten deutschen Sprachfiles erhalten, so dass nur z.B. neue Menupunkte nicht übersetzt sind. Auch das deutsche Handbuch und Onlinehilfe sind bis dahin natürlich noch nicht aktuell.
Ich empfehle dir, das Upgrade nicht auf HardDisk aus Kanada schicken zu lassen, sondern im PGMusic-Onlineshop den Softwaredownload zu nutzen. Bei einer importierten HD wird u.U. Einfuhrzoll und EinfuhrMwSt. erhoben. Das entfällt (noch) bei einem reinen Softwaredownload. Der Download von bis zu einigen GB dauert natürlich eine Weile, aber du kannst dir später alle Dateien jederzeit aus deinem Kontobereich neu runterladen. Das finde ich sehr praktisch.
Die Entscheidung zu einem bestimmten Upgrade-Paket lässt sich dir nicht abnehmen. Tatsächlich kommen mit dem Ultrapak eine ganze Reihe neuer Realstyles - aber nur du kannst sagen, ob du die alle brauchst. Das hängt natürlich auch sehr davon ab, was du mit dem Programm überhaupt machst. Andererseits gibt es im Moment ja noch das sehr günstige Upgradeangebot, das die Entscheidung für ein volles Upgrade vielleicht einfacher macht. Alle früheren Styles bleiben in jedem Fall auch mit der neuesten Programmversion nutzbar, auch das Programm selbst ist in allen angebotenen Upgradepaketen identisch, diese unterscheiden sich nur in der Anzahl an "Zugaben" von MIDI- und RealStyles sowie Artist Performances.

Vor lauter Upgrademöglichkeiten findet man bei PGMusic den sinnvollen Weg kaum. :-) Man muss ja auch die Kosten über die Zeit sehen. Ich kann mir zwei Upgrade-Varianten für mein Band-in-a-Box 2019 UltraPAK vorstellen: a) 2020 Program Update für 49$ (oder 65€ bei M3C) b) 2020 PlusPAK Upgrade für 99$ (oder 129€ bei M3C) https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.htmbei Variante b) hätte ich nach dem Upgrade Band-in-a-Box 2020 UltraPAK, oder? So genau steht das da gar nicht. Warum heißt das " 2020 PlusPAK Upgrade" nicht gleich "2020 UltraPAK Upgrade"? - aber egal...

Ja, du hast Recht, das Upgradesortiment ist vielfältig und schwer zu durchblicken.
Soweit ich das verstehe: Mit dem Pluspak Upgrade bekommst du nur die neuen RealStyles ab Style 329, mit dem UltraPak alle von 1 an. Unter dem Menupunkt "Hilfe"-"Welche Erweiterungen habe ich" wird ja genau aufgelistet, welche Stylepaket installiert sind, das sind bei deiner Upgrade-Geschichte möglicherweise einige Lücken dabei, die sich dann auffüllen lassen. Aber den Umfang der jeweiligen Upgrade-Varianten für deine aktuelle Programmversion kann dir am besten der PG-Support beantworten.
Und natürlich kannst du alle Updates auch bei M3C in Berlin bekommen. Die sind freundlich und kompetent.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
