Is it possible to extract /save the chord progression from the chord sheet of BIAB as a single midi file?

The MIDI spec does not include a provision for chord designations. Some programs use unassigned MIDI parameters to capture that type of information, but it is nonstandard.
I would think your better bet to capture a chord progression from BIAB is to instead export to MusicXML, which would allow you to import into other MusicXML compliant programs that can then read the chord information (since it is part of the MusicXML notation standard).

Thank you for reply!
I never used, or familiar with that MusicXML format.
The idea is to use Kontakt with chord sheet from BIAB outside of BIAB (in Cakewalk to be exact).
At the end of the game, I want a midi chord track in Cakewalk, which will trigger chords in--> Kontakt VST.
I know how I can "record" the midi track to Cakewalk, but I want to find a way how to import/save (convert?) midi from BIAB to Cakewalk as chord track, not to record this in real time.

If it is not possible, to directly save BIAB chord sheet as midi, then I guess the only straight forward work around would be to open a basic "on bar", held chord piano MIDI track, mute everything and do "save special" as MIDI file? Does this sound correct?
Can anybody guide me on this please?

BIAB can generate the block notes for the chords that can be sent to an external MIDI processor. I can't remember if those block chord notes can be written out to a MIDI file, but it's worth exploring the user manual, or maybe someone with knowledge about it can jump in. That would get you closer.

I may be wrong but the Biab "Chord Output" is only good for real time playback, no? Rusty wants to simply import it.
Music XML is simply another file format. I have no idea but try it and see if the other program imports it.

This thread was a bit dry, so I posted it in "BIAB for Windows" section about a week ago.
Pipeline replied to it back then, and his method worked like a charm. It should be a part of sticky. Better yet, it should be a part of a regular menu in File Save As ->Midi Chords in BIAB! Not hidden in endless menus, so only tech savvy people like pipeline can dig it out and share it with us.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
