I bought BIAB 2016 and honestly tried to use it with Logic with no success. i put it away and now (because it was really expensive) am back at it again determined to make it work. I want BIAB to output midi signals for each instrument to Logic. I have set BIAB midi to BIAB virtual output on all ports. In Midi Channel settings bass is on ch 2, piano on ch 3, drums on ch 10...and so on. In Logic's midi settings I have BIAB virtual output selected as Logics midi input. This should work.
When I set a logic virtual synth or midi track to ch 2, it should only receive the bass signals because in BIAB bass is set to channel 2. It should be the same for all other channels. However, no matter what channel I set the logic track to it only receives data from BIAB melody track, whatever instrument or channel it is on in BIAB doesn't matter.
This is driving me nuts. What am I doing wrong. How can I fix it?
Go to the Core Audio MIDI setup, and then go to Window menu | Show MIDI Studio. From there, double-click on the "IAC" icon if it's not active and check the "online" box. Restart Band-in-a-Box and you should see it show up in the MIDI ports dialog. Try using this instead of the BIAB virtual output, and report back...

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
