One more from me - luckily (some may say) and most probably the last one in a while ... I've taken advantage of the New Year break to write a little, but the Fates will soon call me back to the daily grind, so who knows when my rather dubious but nevertheless existent creativity will have a chance to raise its head and communicate through the wonderful BIAB creative software once more. ANYWAY - here's my latest song, such as it may be - thank you once again for being ever so kind as to listen and perhaps even comment!

Nicely done, James smile It flows delightfully smoothly, and the trumpet solo fits perfect with the instrumentation. I can definitely imagine this sounding fantastic as part of a wedding ceremony.

Thanks for sharing!

This is really nice - the trumpet synth is excellent and you seemed to play within its range too.
The only nit would be the bass/kick drum.
For some reason BIAB have gone for the ultra modern clicky kick in the last few years and it's problematic to edit that out and get the old thump back.
It can be EQd to sound better but you'd probably need to use something other than Audacity.
Lovely track though.

Cheers

Very nice indeed!

Super mix and that trumpet sounds great. The sax sounds super also.

Excellent work!

Very rare to hear banjo and brass together but this really works .
Same could be said for the sax.
Very well crafted. Rob4580

Hi James,

What a wonderful listen. As J&B said.... "Like a gentle mountain stream" and I think it's an excellent and apt description.

The trumpet sound that you have used is exquisite. It reminded me of Nini Rosso when he played "Il Silenzio". (That's a great thing, by the way.)

You won me over big-time with this creation.

All the best for when you get back to the "9 to 5"!
Noel

Rob4580: thank you! I was wondering about combining banjo and brass myself, but ... I'm glad it worked :-)

Noel96: thank you so much for such incredibly nice and kind comments! I didn't know "Il Silenzio" ... it's really, really beautiful! Thanks again - also, not least, for your kind comments about my "9 to 5" :-) With any luck, I'll survive and somehow find time to write anyway ;-)

Steve Young: thank you so much - so glad you enjoyed this little offering of mine. I'm always beyond flattered when such amazing musicians as the ones found on this forum like my latest crazy efforts, haha. Thanks again, everyone!!!

Yes this was nicely put together, and yes modern sound for a wedding.

I would have loved to hear this as a ballad with vocals.

Thanks

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
