A song totally done in Band in a box inclusive of my vocal audio.
It was fun to write and produce with only real tracks.

As I have time available I will translate the lyrics to English for better understanding of the story line which has a smattering of truth to it.

Thanks for watching

Hi Chris,

I loved it!

It sounds like you have lots of fun putting this one together. You've done a really good job. I'm impressed that all of this was done in BIAB.

All the best,
Noel

Chris,
whatever you're using on your vocal is throwing the aggressive vocal bits wide in the stereo image which is really odd.
The song sounds good melody & arrangement wise.
Your vocal is a little loud and above the song though.

Cheers

Enjoyed that!

It would be cool to hear what tracks you used
and to see the lyric!

Hello Jim, Thank you so much.
I also updated the style memo

A literal translation of the Lyrics

Annetjie

1In the village of De Aar
Live a girl, nice and skinny
Face with no stain or freckle
I blushed when she greeted me

Annetjie, where are you now
Who are you a woman for now?
Because my heart is just raw
Annetjie, where are you now

2By the old prison in De Aar
Was the red school really
There I saw her again
And keep the image in my head

Annetjie, where are you now
Who are you a woman for now?
Because my heart is just raw
Annetjie, where are you now

Forty years later, winding down
Some of the streets and dust in De Aar
I'll get her in, Paris
She and I, part of a couple

Annetjie, I found you
I know now where you are staying
But I also got my love
But in my head you will stay

Annetjie, where are you now
Who are you a woman for now?
Because my heart is just raw
Annetjie, where are you now

Hi rayc

As always your honest and critical feedback is appreciated and applied.
Yeah, I stuffed up by adding stereo and Delay. Disastrous indeed.

I have made changes to mono on the vocals and removed the delay. I will re-post on sound cloud when bandwidth improves next week. Some damage to an underwater cable in the Atlantic Ocean has limited internet speed to a snail's pace

BTW, it was great to do the video as well, I now have a live "karaoke" track with chords.

An enjoyable song! smile

As rayc said, it's got a nice melody. Nice lyrics, and easy on the ears.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

This is a really good song. I thought that the vocal was a bit loud and overpowered the backing tracks.

I really did enjoy this one.

I went line dancing last night. Well it was a roadside sobriety test, same thing.

Hi WobblyGstring.

This is a happy tune. I'm wondering if it isn't a bit too happy for the raw feelings of a man with such unrequited love. Enjoyed the listen though. I look forward to hearing your remix.

Hi WobblyGstring (how could I ever call you 'Chris....),

that was really nice - first time I ever heard Afrikaans spoken (resp. sung).

Having lived in the Netherlands for a while and thus speaking some Dutch I would have expected to understand at least some parts, but nope ... not one single word.

Nevertheless: cool !

Cheers,

Stefan

A good singalong happy melody ( maybe the singer sounding more cheerful than he feels about losing Annetjie!).
I agree vocals could come down a few dbs.
Very enjoyable to hear a different language on a forum song.
