I'm not sure what you are saying, but BIAB does have a song limit of 255 measures (RealBand does not have this limit).
For your visual mish-mash, try Options, Return to Factory Settings (Most). You might also try a right-click in the chordsheet and look at the display options. Perhaps you have set some high number of rows?

I understand, but when you do the Return to Factory Settings, you are first prompted to Save them to a file. That way, you can restore the defaults and see if the problem goes away, knowing you can safely load back your settings.
If the problem does go away, then you could manually add back your settings one by one to see what triggers the problem, although it may go away just by doing the return to factory settings alone.

I dont want to return to factory settings, if possible
Because it takes me so long to get other display options set up.
for example. some defaults make no sense to me -- why does the cell playing DEFAULT TO BLACK? covering all fonts.
thats horrible for me.
You could add a file called "safemode.txt" to the Preferences folder, and that will get the program to boot up with factory settings, and when you're doing testing, you can just delete that file to restore your original settings.
I think we're just wondering if you still have these strange display issues at factory settings. A screenshot would be helpful. You can attach to a forum post using the "File Manager" in the post reply screen.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
