I run BB 2020 V7 13 64 bit

I have a song, where I inputted everything myself (chords, melody and flute background).

So I selected: _Loungin.Sty, to get some more horn background, but now I have no sound from my MIDI-piano track. I can see there are notes on this track, and they change color (to red), when they are supposed to make sounds. Yet there is no piano sound!

In the Mixer the piano track volume is set to 90, but there is no green horizontal line to indicate there is sound.

When I go into the Assign Real Track to Track, I get a piano sound only when I choose “Solo”.

When I select another Style (e.g. Bossa Piano Trio), there is still no piano sound.

Any suggestion how to get the piano sound back?

I had similar situation smile
When I opened midi style, no sound. (no green meter too)
When style is opened, click "Regeneration" button and try to play it again. See if it helps. Helped me.

Good luck.

If you post the file to this forum, others may inspect it to see what's wrong.

When I tried to put a piano track on the guitar track, that worked OK.
So in one way or another the piano track seems to be muted.

When I played in in BB 2019 on another computer I had no problem to load a piano track!!!!

Just use the forum's File Manager. Its description says:

"To attach files to your forum post, click the Browse button to find files, and then click Add File. Not all file types are supported. File types you can upload include images (e.g. png, jpg, bmp), media (e.g. m4a, mp3), and txt files. Click Done once you've finished adding files to your post."

However, pressing the 'Browse' button, the File Manager lists BiaB files as well AND allows posting such files.

Yes, seeing this is available, I've asked for BiaB files to be included in the description instead of just limiting to the described files.

Open the Plugins Dialog, click on 'Piano1' -> and you'll be all set.

You may find some explanations here -> https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=578256#Post578256

Would never have guessed that would be a fix. Since my German is a little rusty, how did you know how to fix this?

The Plugins tab of the mixer reveals that the VST 'sforzando VST_64' was assigned to the Piano1 track, which as an audio track does not know what to do with a VST. The Plugins Dialog rectifies this misassignment.

Unable to get sound through my Peavy Amo for my Roland RD300s Digital Piano. The Piano sound is fine, But, I am getting all the accompaniment instruments, sounding as piano sound, not Bass,Drums and Guitar that is showing on the instruments selected. My Roland RD300s is showing keys being played as I have selected THRU on BIAB,

When I select a BIAB accompaniment style, I only get a Piano sound for all the instruments. Selected instruments or drums DO NOT SOUND out of my Peavy Amplifier. The instruments DO SOUND out of the Microsoft GS Waveable Synth. Real Drums are unselected. All the BIAB Instruments, including Drums, are showing Yellow.

The accompaniment instruments sound fine through the Computer speaker but not the Peavy Amp,

I would really appreciate your assistance to resolve this problem.

Thanks,

A Peavy Amp basically just replaces a Computer speaker. Thus we likely need more info.

I have never connected my Roland Digital Piano RD300s, which has MIDI In, Out and Thru connection only, to a computer due to the weight of the RD300. I used my Yamaha YPG Digital Piano, which has a USB connection to my laptop adding Band in the Box for accompaniment for my gigs, but now I wish to use the RD300 in my home for recording.

Currently I have the RD300s connected as directed:

UM1 MIDI OUT plugged into RD300 MIDI IN) and
UM1 MIDI IN plugged into RD300 MIDI OUT)
UM1 USB plugged into my Computer

After making the UM1 connection to my Roland RD300, I now have piano sound coming through my Peavy amplifier.

I have Band in a Box selected as Piano (Thru) and when I play keys on the Roland 300, they appear playing the notes
on my BIAB computer screen. (Which is indication the connection is made properly)

My Problem Unresolved:

When I select a BIAB accompaniment style, I only get a Piano sound for all the instruments. Selected instruments or drums do not sound out of the Peavy Amplifier. The instruments do sound out of the Microsoft GS Waveable Synth. Real Drums are unselected. All the BIAB Instruments, including Drums, are showing Yellow.

I am attaching the Roland RD300s, an older version MIDI Manual (9 pages) to assist in problem resolving.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I've had a look at the Roland RD300s on the internet and it only has 8 instruments. All these instruments are also keyboard instruments such as harpsichord, piano, clavinet, etc. This means that if you direct BIAB to play your Roland, it can only use those 8 sounds.

Unless I'm reading the information wrongly, it's not possible to get BIAB to get your keyboard to play guitar, strings, clarinet, etc.

Regards,
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
