Great vocals and production! Lot of work here and it shows throughout. I'd love to know what you used for the horns, strings, etc. as well as what tracks were used from Band in a Box. Good work!

Pretty tidy stuff. The kick drum is a little too clicky for the genre and the toms are a bit loud too. Both can be solved with careful EQing. Lyrics and more details'd be nice.

This really takes me to those old soul r&b songs. Big dollops of soulfulness in your delivery. Excellent song structure and production. Nice surprises at the ending. A real treat to listen to.

Hi, Elliott. A very catchy song that makes the perfect sing-along. For me, the strings are a bit overwhelming, but then I just want to hear the vocals better. Love this tune, man.

Dear Mr. Kayne... We've Got It Made certainly summons solid memories of that soulful, sexy, swingin' and resonantly-voiced superstar singer, Lou Rawls, who was born on the South side of my home city, Chi-ca-go, baby! The lyrics possess the kind of affirmative, life-embracing feelings and sentiments that ran through a lot of hit songs performed by African-American R & B artists and groups of the 60's right through to the 80's -- 'One of a Kind Love' by The Spinners, 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge, 'I'll Always Love My Mama' by The Intruders, and many, many more. But, then, there's your arrangement!!! Power, power, power comin' from the mix, from the sonorous instrumentation, the spirit-freeing vocals and the room-filling drumwork. I think if you had been producing music in the 70's and 80's, you may have caught the attention of artist/arrangers such as Barry White, Holland & Dozier and others. The intro gives a body just enough time to pull someone up on the dance floor and commence to steppin' to the mellow groove . This song deserves to be sent back in time where it would probably compete for hit song status that would last right up to today. It's music produced by a professional, I'm sure, radio- and dance floor-ready. My soul rejoices at your own soul! Truly, LOREN (a.k.a. 'bluage') P.S. By the way, was that you singing???

WOW thanks for your high praise and comments. I play in SoulFire ... an R&B Cover band on weekends, so I guess this one grew out of that. I am singing ... trying to do my best Lou Rawls impression ... hahaha Thanks for listening and your fantastic review. L

Elliot,
Nice to hear a little R&B on the forum (Alan is one of the few who posts some...).
A nice song (Love the picture, too!). And a nice production. The bell (or ride) cymbal in the second half of the song is a bit loud and pulls the ear away.
A smooth ride. fj

Really enjoyable soul song with positive lyrics and a classic catchy key phrase. Lush production, great mix, maybe the strings are bit overwhelming at some points. Very good selection of BIAB instruments and your own additions are good as well, especially that bass line. And your voice is full of motown era soul.

This brings back memories of junior high and high school. I really dig the instrumentation, especially in the verses. Nice build up to the end! Sax solo fits like a glove (not O.J.'s ) and feels good as the song ends!

Elliott, this is really good R&B. Your vocal is really strong and the harmonies were a big plus. Your mix was excellent. The sax lead fit perfectly. Feel free to share more R&B with us!
I just posted a selfie and all of the responses were get well soon!

Remixed and new sax added.
I generated several sax solo's and cut pasted various sections together to get a flowing solo.

I re recorded this song using new techniques. The Horns and strings are from Halion 7, the vocals has a bit of SynthV and Harmonizer. The sax stem is BIAB which fit perfectly. https://www.reverbnation.com/kaynemusic/song/33925871-wegotitmade Thanks for listening, and let me know your comments
