"You got a steady hand that's lined and tough/A connoisseur in the art of love" - what a great lyrical hook!
As soon as I saw you had a new track posted on my notifications, I had to make sure I gave it a listen tonight.
Vocal delivery and interpretation resonates your lyrics.

Great to have you back in the writing groove. Terrific lyrics, liked the instrumentation, could've used more variety in the song structure, I think. But inimitably you, I dug it.

A Dylan-esque, hymn-like layout. Builds subtle and effective. Sweet lines and imagery carried by your raspy, weary voice. The band sounds great. Much enjoyed.

HI Bob ...
Thanks for taking some time to pamper us with another classic song in the unique and wonderful style of Robert Dean. Totally loved everything about this. Your music is always among the best on the forum ... this is more proof. Best to you ...
Alan

I've been waiting for a new song from you Bob and it surely doesn't disappoint. I like especially the lyrical structure with two faces of the same scene: "I know you can fly so blind but I crash and burn over time". The band and mix work perfectly, the chorus is catchy and the lyrics flow smoothly. Percussion effects adds a nice texture.

"you got a steady hand that's lined and tough A connoisseur in the art of love"
Already quoted but worth another! Great line...of many.
Tangmo said: "A Dylan-esque, hymn-like layout. Builds subtle and effective..."
Couldn't agree more...if you've got something to say that can work well -- like it does here.
And, as always an emotive vocal that really carries the lyric nicely.
And, as always, a great band and mix.
Oh, and we've missed you.

All round terrific stuff. There's is the tendency for your voice to push the treatment it receives into clipping/overdrive. I think it'd be an easy thing to fix but it does seem to be a colour you like on your voice.

I really like the way you write with a poetic sensibility, but it fits the song, instead of feeling shoehorned in. And, of course, the excellent arrangement, mix and singing.
