Trygve Larsen (post) couldn't get the program change in MiniHost so I found this after trying BlueCat's PatchWork that is $99, Larry Kehl mentioned it would be good to have a free alternative as BlueCat never has sales like other companies. So with a bit of hunting around and testing Element seems to do the job. Hopefully DeaconBlues09 will do a great video on it
Anyone else please post any tips n trick you find using Element with BB here.
Biab comes with the new version 3 VstSynthFont it has a lot more features but won't run outside of Biab unless you register it. Here's an older version with less features that will run in Element VSTSynthFont64-2.095-VSTSynthFont32-1.095.zip
Load KV_ElementFX.dll into a BB audio/realtrack or KV_Element.dll into a BB midi track. Both will load/Drag n Drop a vst2 or vst3 FX or instrument. EDIT: At the moment if you are Running Biab As Administrator if won't drag n drop VSTs into Element, an easy fix is download something like Explorer++, it is a single file, just right click > Properties > Compatibility > Run As Administrator, then just drag your VSTs in from that. You can chain as many FX and Instruments as you like. Ctrl+click remove connections. Click the top right square for menu, right click for options menu. There are so many other features to list here, just play around with it. Once hooked up Save Group. EXT for host input: (sync, midi) though there is a sync issue with BB at the moment that needs fixing, playing from the very start is ok but not from any bar. This way you can send the output of Ezkeys to Sforzando and use one of the Biab Instruments or another vst instrument like Kontakt. Send midi output from ChordPotion to another instrument. This will also let you have the VST gui free of the confines of the Biab VST window, having all available to edit at the same time. The bottom pic is Element set as Default Synth with RapidComposerVSTi to give more midi tracks (BB Chord Output midi track was imported into RapidComposer first to give the same chords, then the other tracks are imported to current project, enable BB Chord Output WinMac ) RapidComposer with snap any midi to the chord track, look for regular sales of the standard version for around $50 www.rapidcomposer.com/news.html Full Screen Pic

Its not that Blue Cat doesn't have sales it's that this ONE product, Patchwork, never seems to go on sale - - there a few Blue cat Items on sale at Plugin boutique right now.
nevertheless - Pipeline comes though again! With what appears to be a very good alternative to both the free IL Minihost - the not free Patchworks
So there are choices when you need workarounds for any DAW, MIDI or audio routing issue

TBH, I downloaded Elements awhile ago, but never actually used it yet.
Just loaded it into Reaper where I'll try and familiarize myself with it over the weekend and see how well it integrates w/ BiaB, and maybe even record a video at some point early next week :-)

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
