Hello Old Friends,

I'm so glad to be back on here posting with you! It's been too long. This is a song I wrote back in 2008 to help make myself feel better when I was going through lots of heavy stress. It's called MERCY (God Is Good).

I shortened it from it's original epic length, grin added a few tweaks to the original tracks, of course added some new tracks plus added a special guest - my husband. I Hope it lifts your spirit during this stressful time.

As always thank you for your time listening and any constructive thoughts.

The lead Vox track is the original one from 2008 recorded in RB. Instruments are all Realtracks/RDs and a BIAB midi track. I don't remember and cannot find the original style. Mixed in Reaper.

Here's the link to the video https://youtu.be/fav6elY_ep0 or you can watch below. Also here is a link to Soundcloud Mercy (God Is Good)

Ms. 'Sundance'...

After listening to Mercy (God is Good), I realized with a sense of pleasant surprise that I had forgotten what a fine singer you are smile. Your vocal intro was sung in as gentle a manner as a mother would sing to her new-born infant, but at the same time, it also sounded like a quiet, two-note wake-up call to the masses to come to you, to listen to you, and heed your reassuring message. And then, those drums! POW! They really put the song 'on wheels' and sent it on its jam-tastic, upbeat way.

But, most of all, I'm very impressed with the song's arrangement! Lots of instruments: sax, strings, a choir, your voice and its harmonization, changes in the drums' rhythms, bass, piano, acoustic guitar, all really smoothly blended in an imgainative way, musically and mix-wise.

Your husband has a commanding, yet warm voice that was perfect for the monologue he provided -- wouldn't be surprised if he was a minister laugh !!!

Truly,

LOREN (a.k.a. 'bluage')

Hey! It's great that you posted this. Really nice song. Loving the vocals. Especially the held out ones.

When you said a special guest, you husband, I was expecting singing. I caught me off guard; but worked really well!

Now, keep 'em comin'! Good stuff!

We are happy that you have returned to the forum community!

We enjoyed the upbeat lyric, the vocal and the guest!

The mix sounds good on the monitors.

There is a lot happening with the tracks but everything has
it's own nice little spot and the mix has an airy feel.

Excellent vid image also.

Nice!

Nice one. It's good to hear something from you. It's been a while.

This is really good. Loved the intro and the harmonies are spot on. You have such a smooth relaxing voice.

I never heard the longer "epic" version but this goes to show you CAN shorten those songs that are really long and still have a great song.

Nice song Josie. So good to be reminded of God's love for all of us. The song has a lot of variety and I can hear a large church choir singing it. Very uplifting worship song.

Exactly!

This is the best new worship song I have heard in a long time. Everything about this is just plain perfect.

This should be played on not only radio stations but all radio stations. Everyone needs to hear this right now!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
