I run BIAB on one screen and other must see programmes on the other. Any floatable window in BIAB can be moved to the other screen. In my example, the mixer, guitar and karaoke screens. In reality, I don't do that though. Apparently, you can't do it in Realband yet. I set my Windows 10 up so that the mouse goes right on the screen until it drops off and I'm on the other screen. Windows 10 has simple menus that show you the various options if you go into settings. It's cool.

Windows 10 Home 20H2 Build 19042.487 BIAB 2021 (Build 818) Intel(R) Core(TM), i3-4160, CPU @3.60 GHz RAM 16 GB, 64 Bit X64-based processor Zoom UAC-2 (USB 3 interface-built in midi) VoiceLive 3 Extreme, Sputnik Valve Condenser Mic
that is interesting. Now, I play guitar, so if melody could actually be programmed on that guitar, it would be cool. But alas, biab, can't easily do that-- correct anyone?

You've hijacked your own thread (changed the subject), but search for guitar to MIDI converters, here's one. Now, back to the second monitor question.
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
There is not way for a melody created in notation to be played by a guitar RealTrack, but a guitar to MIDI converter like VideoTrack posted about is a good idea.
Additionally, have you tried playing around with User Tracks? It's not a way to program a melody for your guitar per se, but you can record your own guitar playing and use Band-in-a-Box to manipulate it the way you would a RealTrack, putting it over any chord progression and tempo you like. You can then add a melody to it, or change chords frequently and fast enough to make it pretty much a melody.
There's some great info on how to make User Tracks here if you're interested:
Sorry, I'm complicit in the hijacking of this thread, but I figured since the OP did it it was all gravy.
As for double monitors, I think that can be a great way to better organize stuff, and the Minimal Screen Mode option in Band-in-a-Box could be pretty useful. With plenty o' floating windows of course.

I set mine up like lambada so the mouse moves from the right boarder of the left screen to the left border of the right screen. I don't find it helpful to split BiaB between screens, but I DO put BiaB and my DAW on separate screens. (At this point I still find the BiaB .EXE more useful than the VST.) And I split my DAW between screens at the same time, and let my DAW mixer and BiaB split time on the right screen. You'll find you're own happy place. I agree with lambada that split screens are cool. Once you get used to it it's hard to go back...

DC Ron BiaB Audiophile Presonus Studio One StudioCat DAW dual screen Presonus Faderport 16 Too many guitars (is that a thing?)
I have a three screen set up, 2 square 19" flat screen monitors on the outside of a 27" center screen. I tend to use BIAB/RB just on the main big middle screen. I've not found it very useful to stretch between screens on BIAB/RB. I do run my Pro Tools DAW across two of the three screens when I run it.

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
