Couple of observations. I’ve been creating backing tracks of all my bands songs. A couple of things that I wasn’t expecting happened. I was taking the tracks from BIAB and moving them to logic for mixing just like I would do with a real band to make a Demo which I’ve had success with in the past. Add EQ, compression reverb General mixing technique and did a quick mastering with isotope plug. Sounded good when played through Monitors, headphones, etc. Sounded like crap though PA With me playing guitar through amp and singing. No glue, like you were playing along with record. LOL. I found that just letting the Real Tracks play without any outside plugins, center pan, no reverb on base, little on instruments adjust volume, turn instruments off and on, using Hold chords, shots, rests and doing custom endings made it sound live like people just dragged their amps into a rehearsal. Much better anyway. So I say to myself this is a lot less work and this is good. Now to the problem with saving. When I save something on a computer like a spread sheet or Doc I expect it to be what I saved when I reopen the file. Unfortunately when I reopen files in BIAB the mixer settings are different from what I Saved. Like a piano will be on when I had it muted for example. Had done a bunch of tracks, saved them and when I went back to the first one they didn’t sound the same. All of a sudden pedal steel is on and guitars I had muted are on. UGH!! Seems to be a mixer issue. Very disappointing. Anyway, fixed them and immediately rendered MP4 which I moved to iTunes to put on my Ipad for latter use with something like sound cue. I would of thought that saving songs correctly would have been implemented a long time ago. Live and learn.

Hello Frank,
Yes, that is intentional - the mute/solo status of the tracks in the Mixer window is not something that is saved in song files. However the volume / reverb / etc should definitely be saved. Also, if you want to disable a track you can right-click on it | Track Settings | enable/disable.

Okay Andrew. Thanks for the reply. Just for the record I am making some, really good sounding backing tracks with BIAB. I just wish I could go get a gig and try them out. But that doesn’t look like it will happen anytime soon here in NY State. Frank

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
