I wanted to thank all the BIAB users who made constructive comments on my last song. I made a lot of the suggestions you guys made and applied some of them to this song. I'm really proud of this one. It's about dealing with difficult times.

Lyrics:

I know exactly what you mean
when you come and say to me
I don't know if I can bear this load
maybe I'm too tired and old

honestly I feel the same
I worry that it's all in vain
the uncertainty, the sacrifice
we're talking about human lives

but when I look back
on all that we've been through
challenges like this
they are nothing new

yeah okay whatever
we'll deal with it together
hurricanes, plagues, and climate change
yeah okay whatever

every day the news is worse
these times are bad, this land is cursed
looking for a guiding light
I can't see an end in sight

but we are made of tougher stock
we've got thick skin, we take our knocks
we stand against the rising tide
and come out through the other side

and no, this is not
our first calamity
and there has been much worse
times in history

yeah okay whatever
we'll deal with it together
hurricanes, plagues, and climate change
yeah okay whatever

a crisis like this
is way overdue
think what they endured
throughout World War 2

yeah okay whatever
we'll deal with it together
hurricanes, plagues, and climate change
yeah okay whatever
(repeat)

Nice verse arrangement, decent vocal (needs so high end), cool verse but the melody of the chorus is a let down.
That's just me. I was expecting something more melodic and BIGGER in the chorus...you need some dynamic changes - to lift it and make it the message. "Yeah, OK, whatever" is a dismissive phrase that starts the chorus on a downer.

Hi Steve ...

Real nice song! Reminds me of very early 70s. I think a slightly different bass line would give this a little more punch. Maybe something like RT 1849 Bass, Electric, Modern Country, Synch EV16 100.

Just a thought, FWIW. Nonetheless, I enjoyed your song a lot!

Wishing you the best. Be safe ...

Alan
