In many parts of the world, today, July 3rd, is a day when Christians commemorate the Apostle Thomas. Here is a song about him: Skeptic ================================= Some trust the stories they're told And decide "I believe it all"; Some wouldn't have to be sold, Reluctance is small. But I'm a much harder sell-- Who could imagine the truth of a tale so tall? Unconvinced by the tale they had to tell. 'Guess I'm a skeptic at heart, I laughed at what they said occurred; Seemed like inspection was smart To confirm what I'd heard; And so I said I'd return.. Who could imagine the truth of a tale so tall? Unconvinced by the tale so I had to learn. I'm the type of guy who needs to see and touch--I must! That's the way I receive. They all knew it was the truth I gave them Not that I couldn't believe. I get the knock from my questions-- My story's been told that way; Hope they recall my professions-- The faith they convey; When I touched, I knew it was true.. So, this skeptical guy first doubted, then shouted I can say it--I really know it's true! I've seen and touched it! Yes! I can say it--I really know it's true!

Great song!
It's a rather complicated melody line, but it's very beautiful and I feel the influence of Jobim as usual.
Moreover, rather than the influence of Jobim's famous songs, I feel the influence of the more elegant songs such as "Bonita" or "Dindi" that Jobim's core fans prefer.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Words like sophisticated and classy come to mind.
The both interesting and captivating lyric is delivered in an intimate up front (but not too much so) and convincing manner.
And it's all wrapped in a mix that sounds, subtle, nuanced and sets a good soundstage on the monitors.

Hans, J&B..thanks for the kind comments. Unfortunately, I lost all of the initial build info on this when my HD crashed. This track was made by adding onto an almost-finished WAV file.

An interesting write and arrangement. Some others commented it's a sophisticated tune and I agree. Enjoyable listen.
