Waiting for the sun

Deep down below,
I believe we could grow.
If you could only let me show.
If you could only let me show.

We push through,
do what we can do
to overcome...

...what has to be done,
sometimes you better run,
waiting for the sun.
Oh, to overcome,
what has to be done,
sometimes you better run...

High above the sky,
I believe we could rise,
If you could only let me show.
If you could only let me show.

oooh! This is really nice. Great vocal. nice and bright and up front.

Nice placement of the harmony just to the left side.
Makes for great clarity and definition.

I really like that way this part sounds.

Nice work. I like the folk groove. Harmony is superbly done.

What's not to like?

Hey, this is a nice production. Sounds really good on the monitors. Good RT choice and the drums sound good...nice snare pop.

Cool contemplative lyric delivered with some up front (in a good way) and soulful vocals.

We like!!!

You're making music at a very high level, and it's a pleasure to listen to. I wish I could sing and make music this good. The lyrics are okay, but still the Achilles heel for me. Maybe it's not a big deal, I tend to weight lyrics higher than most people do.

Classic folk mood, but with full rich modern sound and great vocals. Very enjoyable backing vocals also. I like how the fiddle and the vocals resonate together.

That's a very nice song, Rebecca!
The vocals are very pleasant as is the melody of the song.
And I do like that violin in it. It is subtle, but present!

This sounds professional on all levels - excellent work.

The singing and arrangement are top-notch.

But - and I say this with some hesitation - for me there's something about the mix that makes the vocals a strident and hard to listen to. I'm glad others disagree with me. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hey Janice and Bud,

Yes, you are right, we took your advice in putting the vocals more up front you suggested for the song " let go ".

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

Dennis posted his very thorough Band-in-a-Box® review recently, where he dives into some of the new features added with version 2023: Sound-Guy's Band-in-a-Box Review

Read his thoughts on the Download & Install Manager, partial track regeneration, Playable RealTracks, Audio Editing, the addition of SynthMaster, the VST DAW Plugin, and more!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is, without negative connotation, a monster of a program. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. No DAW can do some of the things BIAB does, while BIAB can do a lot that DAWs do."
