This is a new song that Danny Jackson wrote and we worked it up at the studio here. As you recall, Danny was a drummer in several bands I was in. I really like the groove on this one. It's also the first time in a long time that I have used a sax and refrained from playing a lead part on the guitar.
A wonderful backing track that really trucks along and provides an excellent bed for the super vocal and harmony. Could have been a Southside Johnny track.

I need to listen to that again.

Glad to hear that you really like this.
To be honest, I'm blown away by the high quality of the sax myself. PG gives us some good stuff in their software.
Feel free to listen as many times as is necessary. I don't mind a bit.
Thanks for listening.

Sweet blues rock Herb, really well put together! I don't think it would hurt to split that solo section with guitar and sax both! I found myself waiting for it to come in! Nice work here for sure! Thanks, T
A rockin' track. Overall, the mix is good. The drums, bass and guitar sound good.
The vocal is good. You list yourself doing harmonies, but I can't really hear any. Seems like this song could use full harmonies all over the place.
Might be the loudest thing I've ever heard on Soundcloud.
Hey, I'm glad you commented on this and like it.
Yeah, the mix.... I kept the BGV low on purpose. You can hear the harmony on the chorus because that's the only place it is present. Could I have bumped it a bit? Sure.... but I didn't want them to be clearly heard. Just in the same was as there are 4 additional lead vocal tracks. I comped the best of the 4 tracks into the lead and then used the original 4 as doublers. Low and wide. I was thinking you had commented on the sax levels too but you might have edited that so no problemo.
Loudest think on Soundcloud...... hummmmmmm.... I didn't really do anything that I don't normally do to this mix. Got me on that one... no clue.

You know, I actually played around with the idea of playing a guitar solo in there, splitting it, as you mentioned, with the sax. BUT.... I really didn't think it added to the song and if something doesn't make the song better, I resist the temptation to put it in there. My thoughts and efforts were to 1.... split it into 2 parts..... 2 trade licks with the sax. IN the end.... I just let the sax play it all since it sounded so good and I rarely use sax.....
Thanks for the comments, and we're glad you like the song.

Really nice! Like the groove. I couldn't help when you got to the "doctor, doctor, doctor..." parts to think this is a rocked up, blues-ed up, rebelled up echo of Nilsson's Lime In The Coconut (just the chorus).
You did a really good job on this. The sax did fit in real well. I do agree with Torrey, your nice, tasteful guitar licks would have fit in well with some trade-offs with the sax.
Really enjoyed this.

Love the country-rock feel of this. Outstanding vocal. The sax was an inspired choice - just great!

Thanks for listening. Danny was actually the one who suggested the sax... He said he could hear a sax playing the intro..... it fell into place from there.

I hear what you're saying.... I was thinking more like this>>
Thanks.... Maybe on the next one I'll throw some licks in there.....

Great job! The sax is superb. The rest is a wonderful groove - do they call this ska? I'm useless at styles and their labels, so forgive me if I'm talking rubbish (what's new? haha). And yes, it's a tad loud, but I just lowered the volume on my notebook - an easy fix ;-)
Love it. Had me tapping my feet from beginning to end.

The style is Jeans pop country blues. I believe Ska is more closely aligned with reggae as far as the feel goes. It's amazing how that volume control works huh?
Glad you liked it and took a listen. Thanks
