This is a song I originally did in 2014. I decided to redo it with new BIAB DAW plugin. I added the plugin to my Studio One DAW. I must say this was very impressive. When I am playing the song in Studio One The chords are playing in the BIAB window. Very cool. I converted a piano acoustic track with Melodine back to midi which I then used the woodwinds section from the BBC London Symphony plugin. I also added another midi track and add the Violins from the BBC Symp plugin which is free and thanks for the heads up from Floyd. The song was written for my wife and it has been and still is her favorite song of mine. This is lovely but the fx on the guitar tend to swallow it at times. Excellent work on the arrangement.

Hi Scott,
A beautiful track.
Very delicate and expressive guitar work with some lovely phrasing. The Purdy and the Eventide work so well together.

Scott,
Nice. A "haunting" track. Cool sounds throughout. Nice use of the BBC.
Good mix. I thought the main guitar lead should have been a little more centered - not exactly centered, but not so far left...
The ending is a bit "abrupt".
A good listen.

Beautiful playing, good use of strings, chording and melody has nice melancholy - still noble overall feeling, like looking from the view point of a high flying eagle.

Nice melodic lines, great tone. Thanks Dave. I seem to gravitate toward these sounds. These songs and tones just seem to feel really good when playing them. As well as good hard driving blues/rocker can hit the spot too. Glad you liked the song.

Ethereal? Yes but also captivating in a richly textured manner.
Great guitar chops and a cool tone to deliver them with.
Very nice!

Hi Scott,
That is a nice, sweet song you made then and remake now! It is a bit melancholy. Mis the words... But there is something with the guitar halfway in the song. Suddenly it only came through from my right ear (phone). Later it went good again. And the end was a bit abrupt. But maybe you did that on purpose?
Thanks, Hans

Thanks rayc Yes I was experimenting with some sounds on this song. What you are hearing is me trying to reshape the notes with volume swells. Had to increase the guitar volume and then cut it back about 20 with a volume pedal. I started the notes early then brought them in the pedal. Had to watch as it allowed me to increase the sustain but came very close to clipping.

Very laid back feel to this. Ear pleasing and calming. I concur with Floyd about the abruptness of the ending, but that's my only nitpick.

Wow, Scott, that guitar sings so sweetly. I'd like to hear it louder in the mix, and maybe bring the strings down some. As is, it's very enticing, and a wonderful arrangement of the tune. A lot of emotion in the writing, arranging and playing. Loved it. Twice. So far.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I will make some adjustments to the mix and fix the ending. I have been studying some different mixing technics. I have been converting audio wav files to midi with Melodyne then adding virtual instruments from the BBC plugin. Very new to me . Should probably bounce the tracks to audio so I can do a proper fade out. Also using Melodyne to convert my guitar tracks to midi then export to Notation guitar tabs. Now I can relearn my guitar melodies after not playing then for two weeks lol

I always think "clear as a bell" when I hear your guitar work. Real nice melody. I don't understand your explanation of the various tools you used, because I'm not familiar with them, but I'm impressed that you "dug deeper" on an existing song to get the improvements you were looking for. Enjoyed it!
My only feedback: I think the lead guitar got drowned out a bit by the strings/woodwinds--maybe tone them down a little to clear room for your melody.

Thanks Ezekiel's Storm, Graham and Marty. I remixed the song and bounced the midi files to audio files and was able to make a little better ending. Thanks for checking out the song I appreciated it

This is a beautiful piece Scott. And your guitar work and sound is, as always, exquisite. Definitely worth more plays. I agree with some comments that the guitar occasionally gets drowned out a bit, but still great to listen to. Cheers, Mike

Hi Scott ...
Ethereal, as previously noted, and haunting in a very good way. I have no clue about what you said your process. As you probably know, I don't even use a a DAW, other than the basics of Audacity. On my latest song (Dark Clouds), it's straight from the BIAB chord input sheet to Audacity. That's where my mixing ability level tops out. But whatever all that means, in your explanation, it sure gave you an impressive song! Totally enjoyed it!!!
Best to you and please be safe ...
Alan

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
