I tried this back in December and did not see much value but I want to try it again.

I'm trying to generate a solo over 8 bars. And I succeeded in getting 7 tracks. I dragged them from WAV drop quadrant to my folder. Now I wanna drag them into my DAW.

But here is my question...how much offset is inserted at the beginning of these tracks? I was hoping a full amount to exactly match the rest of the tracks. But no, there seems to be some other, smaller amount.

Does anyone know how much blank time is added to the beginning of these tracks? And is that something I could change?

And one more question, what do I do after generating multiriffs? Do I simply close the song without saving to get rid of them? Is there a command to revert to my original tracks? And a slightly different question is how do I keep these 7 tracks along with my other

This is probably what I dislike most about this feature. It is a hack that uses existing tracks rather than adding new tracks. It gets quite confusing!

John x 3 I haven’t done it in the main BiaB program it seemed kind of complicated. I have done this in RB and had mixed results. I got some real good tracks and some not so good. Actually I get the best results in the plugin. Especially when I drag to a DAW. That comps well. I use both Logic and Studio one. Both have real good comping features. I usually set up the start early end late feature and drag in and comp the parts I like then save. I can always take a second and or third run at it. I did a demo song the other night and nailed the solo with a MTRiff.

As far as where to start I find that I usually need to slide it forward a bar like a riff at bar 24 I slide to 23. Now with padding it will allow you to slide the track tot he start and it lines it up.

I know you have had some issues with the plugin in the past, but it is slowly getting better, especially in these areas of letting you add stuff in the DAW without worrying about the saving and external dragging issues.

Thanks Rob but the plugin is still a sad piece of work in my opinion. I had not tried using it in several months but because you suggested it tonight I decided to give it a try.

1) ran standalone plugin
2) loaded my recent finished BIAB song
3) select bars I want to generate
4) right-click track I want to generate multiriffs from and selected Select Multiriff from this RealTrack
5) click Generate button
and...
6) CRASH

I get a yellow in progress box and then a green success box right before the program crashes and unloads itself.

I tried this 4 or 5 times and got same result every time. I'll give it another year as I am so sure it will be working properly then! (sarcasm!)

I tried a couple of months ago in Reaper and despite the plug in telling me there were seven variants it would only deliver five when dragged into the project.
I retried a few times and on one occasion it delivered the same track multiple times. It's hit n miss so I took the hint and give it a miss. It's easier, though slower, to regenerate a few times in BIAB and export them each time.
It may go the way of BIAB real Player videos.

I've tested the multiriffs feature a lot in the latest build of the plugin and it is working flawlessly in my testing. Please post your result on the Pre-release forum, including which RealTracks you were trying to generate. Also it could be something specific about your song file, so it would help if you included that and/or try a blank song with the same RealTracks.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
