If you do, at 8pm on Friday nights, visit Brian Culbertson Official. He streams an hour live from his home studio, which, PS, is better than any studio I have ever recorded in (but when your net worth is approaching 10 million....). He streams with like a 5 camera setup. He has a guest every week (last week was Ramsey Lewis) and it's a great stream. Tonight his guests are a handful of members from Tower Of Power. 8pm eastern.

Cool! Culbertson is great. Do you know about Live From Daryl's House on YouTube? It's Daryl Hall and I've been watching those for years, probably over 100 episodes by now. He has great guests and yep, his house is huge and so is his studio. Here's one of my fav's I know you'll like with the O'Jays:
LFDH hasn't been on for 2 years now. Apparently this last divorce cost him big time and he is touring like a maniac to recover. His wife, Amanda, divorced him in 2015 and was sadly found dead in 2019 from a heart attack. The legal fees had to be crazy with that huge house they restored.
The last press on the show was from 2018 when he said they were going back into production in the fall, which never happened. I doubt Amanda's passing had anything to do with the show dying off from an emotional aspect because everything printed about the divorce said that simply couldn't stand each other anymore. BMG bought the rights to the show and the first 82 episodes but they have not really shown much interest in continuing.
My favorite was #80 with Daughtry. Man that boy got some pipes!!!

We're on our second go around with Daryl's house. The band is always great as are the guests and the arrangements are outstanding. He has an uncanny ability to work with disparate genres, etc., as he and his guests always sound like they've worked together for years. Amazing given the relatively short time they have to work up the songs.
FWIW if forced to choose I'd say Fitz and the Tantrums are our favorite.
That have no severely limited the number of shows available. That's sad because that was the best thing the internet had to offer during those 2 years.

I need to make sure I explain that Culbertson did not have TOP performing. He had Emilio on during an interview, and some from Garabaldi, and Larry Braggs shows off his winery. They tell a lot of old TOP stories about the band and such. His show is some music, some interview, part wine plugging.... he DOES have some music form guests, like when he had Bone James, Rick James, Nick Colionne.... early on it was by Zoom, lately in his home studio. Like all musicians, he lost his whole year's tour schedule to Covid.

My wife never misses his Friday show. We've seen Brian Culbertson live 3 times and each time he was stellar. We never miss him, Dave Koz, Boney James, and Greg Karukus when they come to our area. The sound that they get out of a 5 piece band live is just flat out amazing !!!
Anybody willing to spend 2 hours on youtube, this is Culbertson live from Las Vegas a couple of years ago. Lots if stuff from the Colors of Love and Funk! CDs.
FANTASTIC. Say no more. Watching again, and am enjoying it even more now. Cookin'
Got sum mil' sauce?
He will be in my own next April at a venue 4 miles from home. The other keyboard player from my band and I are already sure we are going. I just hope he does meet and greet so I can get my Funk! CD signed.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
