This was going to be a different genre. I had started it out as a jazz funk theme but as usual while going through the styles I came across this and thought that it would make a nice new age sound, so I turned it into Something Different !

BiaB style – CELINE 1.STY – Acoustic Guitar Ambient
Tempo – 60 BPM

All sounds but the choir are from Kontakt, the alto choir is from EastWest. The first listing is BiaB’s choice and the second is the sound that I used.

Bass – double bass

Strings – synth strings

Sweep Pad - choral strings

Guitar – Vibes

Drums – Steven Slat’s SSD5 drums

Triangle – Kontakt factory sounds

Cabassa – Brio Ensemble

Me – Flute via my wind controller, French Horns via my Guitar MIDI controller and the Choir via my keyboard controller.

Hi Mario ...

This is just so dang pretty and relaxing! Love the group of musicians you hired ... they deserve a raise!

I wouldn't know a wind controller from a cement truck. So relaxing yet uplifting. Simply beautiful! And yes, it did migrate to something a little different than Jazz Funk! BTW, I'm getting ready top post a Modern Jazz Funk piece in just a bit.

Totally loved it! You are so good at this sort of thing!!! Best t you. Take care and be safe ...

Alan

Not completely different, but I surely enjoyed the majestic ballad with beautiful progression, ethereal melody, good instrumentation and playing.

This is SO beautiful! The entry of the horns lifted it, for me, to yet another level. Like a vision, a glimpse of borderless flight. So, so beautiful. Thank you, I needed this!

Mario,
Very good well thought out composition. Excellent playing! Winds sound great.
Personally, the only weak spot to my ears were drums. Kind of lacking body. I think orchestral drums could work better on this. Thank you for sharing.

I've got to get me one of those wind controllers.

Lovely tune. Quite an enchanting sound that transitions into a majestic build with the french horns. The instrumentation is exquisitely layered.

You are enormously talented, Mario.

Thanx James, Mike, Misha, Torrey, Ezekiel's Storm, and Leon for taking the time to listen and comment on my little ditty.

Misha, I believe you are right in that orchestral drums would sound better. Thanx for the suggestion.

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks

MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:

There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:

1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track

Review - Band-in-a-Box® 2023 for Windows is Overflowing with Features!

"Band-in-a-Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource.
