Hi Folks, I'm now in my tenth year on the forum and it's certainly a lot busier than when I joined, so if I don't get to comment on all the songs please forgive me - I do listen to more than I have time to comment on. Although it's ten years on the forum, it's over twenty years since I discovered Powertracks. At the time, I looked at Logic, Protools etc., but found that Powertracks was quite easily the best for me and I've been using it ever since. Although I now have BiaB 2021, from time to time I like to get back to basics and do something simple in Powertracks and this is one of those occasions. It's guitars, bass, a drum machine and vocals - half a dozen tracks and virtually no effects. Is She Coming Back?My Baby disappeared about three or four days ago My Baby disappeared about three or four days ago Maybe she lost her sat-nav signal and can't find her way back home It's getting on near a week and I'm sitting here all alone It's getting on near a week and I'm sitting here all alone I keep calling up her number but she must have lost her phone It's now ten days and counting since I found my Baby gone It's now ten days and counting since I found my Baby gone She went out to do some shopping, how can that take so long? Always grateful to anyone who has the time to give it a listen. Many thanks and stay safe all. ROG.

Yeah! I love this, Rog, great groove!
Fun lyrics, great guitar work too.
Mix is right on the money. I'm hearing some sort of artifact panned left, starts at around 3:01 or so, might want to check into that.
Really good, enjoyed!

man, I am totally tappin' my foot to this one Rog!
I think a lot of guys would actually like to live this song. Usually getting single again involves surrendering half a man's worldly possessions in divorce court.

Love it, ROG (and just couldn't help singing along). Mario says Clapton. Yep, but maybe even more of a JJ Cale vibe (who of course influenced Clapton). Great stuff regardless. Regards, Leon

Rog,
A foot-tapper right out of the gate. Terrific sound and mix that really gets the head nodding—the drum is infectious and lead guitar is smoking. Strong vocal to go with.
Might have been interesting to do an outro with the singer repeating the title phrase—just a thought.
Excellent tune as is!
All my best,
Deej

Really good, enjoyed! Hi Dave, You're right, there is something there - I didn't pick it up on the monitors, but I could hear it on the headphones. No idea what it is, but as it appears to be in time with the music and I'm basically too lazy to fix it I think it will have to stay there! Hey, glad you liked the track and many thanks for looking in. Cheers, ROG.

Channeling J.J. Cale all the way man!
Wow...like hearing a lost track by him.
Great vocal and playing. Period.
And hey it's a 12 bar...yeah.
Not gonna parse this out ... just diggin' the live band feel and had rather listen more.
Nice 10th year anniversary indeed!

Hi Pat, Yes, there's a bit of Clearwater influence in there along with a few others. Pleased to hear that it got your foot tapping! I think my pal Eddie has lived this song three times over. Maybe I should dedicate it to him. Thanks for looking on this one. Cheers, ROG.

Hey ROG ...
Quite a cool song! Sounds like Clapton sitting in with CCR. I'd pay to hear that. I'd pay to hear this , too. But, thanks to PG Music Users Forum, I get to listen for free.
Lead guitar style was a like like Fogerty's. There's some really good music to be made with just "the basics". I played in a four-piece group for a number of years and the basics covered a lot of ground.
As always, your mix was spot-on. Very nice listen, indeed!
Wishing you the very best ...
Alan

Deej Hi Deej, Maybe I should point out that the "infectious drum" isn't any thing to do with Covid-19. I like the suggestion for the ending - an opportunity missed I'm afraid. Many thanks for looking in and the positive comments. Cheers, ROG.

J&B Hi there J&B, I'm a long-time JJ Cale fan and remember being so impressed by his album "5" which I wore out and had to buy on again on CD. I'm humbled at the comparison and many thanks for that and the kind review. Cheers, ROG.

Hi All, Many thanks to all those who've suggested the many influences that have been brought to bear on this track - I'm flattered and humbled to be mentioned in the same sentence as all those. There is one lesser known musician though, who has always influenced my playing and that is Robert Higgenbothom. No it's not a joke and he's better known under his performing name of Tommy Tucker who wrote and recorded the classic High-Heel Sneakers. I love most of his work, but one of my favourites is Sitting Home Alone. Click the title to hear it on YouTube - if you liked my track, then you'll maybe like Robert Higgenbothom as much as I do. Many thanks again to you all. Cheers, ROG.

Alan Hi Alan, You're very kind with all your comments. I enjoyed keeping the track count down and getting back to basics. With fewer instruments running, it's easier to concentrate on getting the rhythms to work together, creating the "groove". Glad you liked it and many thanks for the listen and review - much appreciated. Take care and the best to you and Di. ROG.

Hi Rog Nice clean guitars and the bass really pumps . Sounds like a mixture of the Stones and Dire Straits ,two of my favs so I had to like this . Not a fan of fade outs but that doesn't distract from the high quality of this song. I am also a 20+ year user of Powertracks and as you say ; "it's great for getting back to basics" and the great sound you achieved is testament to that. "Maybe she lost her sat-nav signal and can't find her way back home" LOL reminds me of my better 'alf who can't read a road map! Fun song , well played and recorded and a pleasurable listen.
ps sorry for the late comment. Been awol like your lady. cheers Gary.

I started using Powertracks because the first time I booted it, I found I knew how to work it. Couldn't say that for any of the others. When you really get into the detail, it has more editing and mixing power than most of the established front runners. It really is the "hidden secret" of DAWS. Anyway, many thanks for the listen and review. Cheers, ROG.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
