I have posted this issue in the PreSonus community but am wondering whether any of the folks on here could shed some insight.
I am trying to record a bass track with the AudioBox interface using StudioOne. My bandmate has sent a wav file of vocal and guitar, which I have imported as a single track. I am experiencing the following issues thus far:
1) I find that when I try to record along with the single guitar/vocal track, I have to turn my bass input up to full in the StudioOne UI to come in around -12. I also have to turn the guitar/vocal wav file’s volume way down to hear my bass over it while recording and during the playback.
2) On the physical interface, if I turn the input volume knob anywhere past noon, the bass signal will clip. I am trying to come in at around -12 which was recommended in a StudioOne video on YouTube.
I am plugging a single instrument cable into the left input on the interface. I have attached a screenshot of the StudioOne UI while trying to do this.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
