Future Disco Groove Out of my comfort zone again with this little jam. Let me know what you think. BiaB style = Soft Heart MIDI RnB Synth Pop Tempo = 110 I deleted the drum track and replaced it with Drumsynth 500 and its MIDI loops. I modified the drums to better fit the song. Bass = Synthmaster 1 (SM1)=- preset Bas - Haddaway LN Piano - SM1 - preset - listless spaces bt Guitar - Synthmaster - preset - ambient approach Strings = SM1- preset - pad galaxy I played my MIDI keyboard controller for the following: SM1 - preset - power brass (sounds more like gunshots then brass) Lead - Kontakt - Retro machines - preset - dirty saw lead
I want my last spoken words to be "I hid a million dollars under the........................"

Well done, Mario. It definitely had a disco feel to it. I liked it. As a former dj I would personally have liked the bass and drums to be louder compared to the lead (makes it easier to fill the dance floor) - and the drums might be a bit too busy compared with traditional disco, but you called the track for future disco and you might be right... who knows? Thanks for sharing! Will

Your song has some really funky space vibes to it, and I think it's clear that you had a lot of funny with working on this particular project! Lots of creativity here. Thanks for sharing!

Hi, Mario. I liked it, although with "disco" in the title, I thought - like Will - the bass and drums would be a bit more hyped. On the other hand, if you had written "Tangerine Dream 27", I'd be writing "Nailed it!"

You got me with the title, Mario. One of my favorite titles was a song written my Ringo Star and Harry Niisson: How Long Can Disco On. YES, I can dance to this; no, I won't. Love your music, man. Your comfort zone seems much broader than you think. I picture you in your studio like a mad, genius composer. Instruments and pages flying all of the place, then out comes another magical moment of music. Please never tidy up that room.

Rayc - Thanx for listening and commenting on this song.
Rob4580 - Thanx for the very nice comments. Maybe I'll have to purchase a spinning Disco ball for my studio?
Gruverider - Thanx for the stretch comment. With BiaB and MIDI it is relatively easy to do.
Will - Thanx for that suggestion. I'm not very well versed in today's dance music.
Jpt^3 - Thanx so much for commenting on this experiment of mine.
PeterR - Thanx for listening and commenting!
Dave - Thanx for the very nice comments.
Ember - thanx so much for taking the time to listen and commenting.
David - You're right. It does have a more of a Tangerine Dream feel to it.
Marty - I keep trying to expand my music genres and BiaB makes it possible. I have been called mad but never a genius. I take it by the "instruments and pages flying all over the place" that you have been spying on me.
David Snyder - thanx so much for listening and commenting.
Henry - Thanx for taking the time to listen and comment.
Scott - thanx for mentioning my chord progressions. I like to mess around with chords. I had to toss my white suit, it shrunk so much since those disco days!
Greag - Thanx so much. Being in a wedding band for most all of my music career I was able to play a number of genres. But I was never a master of one.

We don't know enough about old disco to know whether this is future disco or not But we definitely hear a futuristic vibe. This could work well in a sci-fi movie. It conjures up images of objects drifting through space. We always enjoy your experiments and melding of genres! J&B

Mario,
I think it's a very ambitious attempt. Yes, it is definitely Future Disco Groove. I would also personally have liked the bass and drums to be louder. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Well now! That was different.
Nice to clear the pallet now and then. Kinda like watching the Zamboni Machine refinish the ice between periods.

Hi Mario,
My feet really liked this. All the way through, they wouldn't let up and just kept tapping and shuffling along with music. It's been a long time since they got so carried away!
The chord progression is excellent and the presentation is "thumbs from me". You won me! It sounded like you put a lot of thought into creating this work and I had the impression that you enjoyed every bit of the journey.
All the best, Noel

Hi MarioD,
I noticed that a post addressed to rayc, was found at your place and I do not understand. Because I can't even edit it. I am sorry for that. I listened to Future Disco Groove. I enjoyed the bass and its melodic line. Your synth playing in melody is very nice especially since it is you who plays. The whole is pleasant. Once again, my apologies for this inconvenience. I would have to ask the staff about this problem. Fortunately, I always put the name of the interpreter first. But not being able to edit his comment seems weird.
But to come back to your composition, it's a style that I did not know about you, but it is well done.

Robertkc, thanx for listening and commenting but you will never ever see me DJing anyplace
Janice and Bud, I don't know whether this is future disco or not either, I just picked that as a title! Thanx for those very nice comments.
Shigeki, yes this was ambitious, as I never actually played disco music. I number of my forum friends thought the bass and drums should have been louder. Thanx for listening.
Moto, This was different for me also. I do like to experiment with music and BiaB makes that possible. Are you another hockey fan?
Noel, I'm glad that you and your feet like this. Yes I have fun with music. If I didn't I wouldn't be playing. Thanx for listening.
Derochette, don't worry about that post, no harm done. My synth playing is very basic as I am not a keyboard player. Thanx for those very nice comments.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
