I ripped my shirt on an old barbed wire fence, I thought "Barbed Wired" a good song idea.
So, here it is:

https://soundcloud.com/captainmoto/barbed-wire-1

Band:
Drums - BIAB Real Drums TexMexCountry
Bass - BIAB 572 Electric Bass
Guitar #1 - Captain Moto, Tele
Guitar #2 - Captain Moto, Tele
Guitar #3 - Captain Moto, Strat
Vocals - Captain Moto

Guiatr amps mic'd up with SM57s
Vocal mic, AEA Ribbon
Recorded, Mixed & Mastered In Studio One

Lyrics:

You’re Like Barbed Wire Baby, When You Fence Me In

Just Like Barbed Wire Baby, The Way You Fence Me In

Someday I’m Gonna Break Out And I’ll Be Free Again.....Free Again

You Got The Gates Closed On Me, And Boundary Well Defined

Got The Locks Closed Tight, And You’re Mess’n With My Mind

Like Barbed Wire Baby, Got All Entwined,…....All Entwined

Every Time I Step Out, You Pull Me Right Back In

Like Barbed Wire Baby, You're Ripp’n Up My Skin

I’m All Scratched Up, Don’t Ask Me Where I’ve Been,…...Where I’ve Been

Ha...Take It Away Boys

~~ Gutar Solo~~

Got My Clothes All Tore Up, And I’m Bleed’n Like A Pig

Barbed Wire Cut Me, Got Me Feel’n Mighty Sick

Well It's Time For Me To Bust Out, Get Runn’n Real Quick, ….....Get Runn’n Real Quick

You’re Like Barbed Wire Baby, When You Fence Me In

Just Like Barbed Wire Baby, The Way You Fence Me In

I’m Gonna Break Out, I’ll Be Free Again.....Free Again

Whoo Ha, Free Again, Ye Ha, Free Again

This is a great write. Love the intro.
Really nice production.
Reminds me of some early Elvis stuff with a touch of Johnny cash.
Love it.

Thanks for listening.
After I recorded and got close to the final mix, I thought it reminded me of somebody, IO just can't put my finger on who that is.
Elvis and Johnny Cash is a good place to start my search.

Great song. Reminded me of a woman (Barbara) years ago, who was always ripping into her colleagues. It earned her the nickname Barb Dwyer.

Nice bluesy old time piece. The guitars sound nice and twangy.
The vocal has a good live feel to it.

Well produced.

Nice, old school feel to this, late 50's, early 60s vibe.
Especially the sound you have dialed in on the guitars. Slap back delay? And tons of reverb. Great sound in my book.

Good stuff, Captain, I like your style.

moto,

A good Blues write. And a classic sound. A sound that never goes out of style.

Good guitar work. Good vocals. Well mixed - a tight sound with a "live" element. Nice!

An enjoyable listen.

Thanks Peter,
I think this one deserved a little twang.

Hi Captain,

That's a groovy song (old word I used years ago)
But the sphere your song breaths is like those years.
The guitars gave me that familiair feeling between one the one hand the Shadows and on the other hand J.J Gale
A bit uncomparable, but you manageged to do that to me! But I think your voice helped to get mr Gale here.
and in a way the song is also 'understated' if that's the proper word. Just like the songs from Floyd and Peter and Leon.
Maybe it is because we get enough of the lockdown by now.

I liked it much, captain!

Just make it rusty barbed wire for the total effect. Nasty stuff.... BUT.... the song is cool.

I could hear Johnny Cash singing that back in the day.

I Like it.

Very cool intro. Barb Wired. I was thinking Pamela Anderson maybe :-)... Very cool vocal and backtrack. Drums were cool and a little Hank Marvin guitar. Well done

Howdy Cap'n ...

I read the early Elvis and Johnny Cash analogies. Can't disagree with either of those. But my first thought was Carl Perkins, circa 1958. The guitar work is perfect for the genre and era. Loved all the "fenced in" references, strongly supporting the title.
Isn't it interesting how some small event can trigger such a great song?! Nice ... really nice! Take care.

A cool little ditty - nice arrangement and those three guitars are sitting pretty.
The kick drum seems to be in the wrong song though.

Ray,
Thanks for listening and commenting.

I'm not sure what you mean by "in the wrong song"
I wanted some heavy bottom on this if, that's what you're talking about.

Well, for starters, hey, it's a 12 bar. Yea!

Rollicking fun indeed.

Guess it's just J&B but we hear a lot more blues in this than the
aforementioned rockabilly references. Although admittedly the
production does harken to that era.

Fine vocal and guitar performances and a cool write.

Most enjoyable!

Hey, Cap’n:

Boy, do I really like this one—a real foot tapper. Those guitars have a 60’s throwback vibe, then married to that Tex Mex percussion . . . smokey cool! And your vocal sits really well in the mix. Terrific write and great production work on this one. Congrats!

All my best to you,

Deej

Good ol' 50 blues. You did a fantastic job on this. I got a Carl Perkins vibe from this one. This is your best to date IMHO.

Dear Captain Moto:
Hey this popped up on my Release Radar on Spotify last Friday.
Very nice tune and great to listen to.
Right now I'm listing to it about 4 times a day because I run this 2 hour playlist while I'm at work.
So every 2 hours or so here comes that nice intro lick and it makes me relax and smile.

That is the sign of a great tune!

Very nice tune and great to listen to.
Right now I'm listing to it about 4 times a day because I run this 2 hour playlist while I'm at work.
So every 2 hours or so here comes that nice intro lick and it makes me relax and smile.

That is the sign of a great tune!

Thanks for that report Marty.
I'm happy to make your work day a tad happier.

Thanks for that compliment, Soundchaser.

Humming along is a good thing.

Hey Noel,
I'm kind of a simple 12-bar kinda guy.
I've been using a tele lately and I'm liking it.

CaptainMoto,

Nice bluesy old time tune.
As Guitarhacker says, "Just make it rusty barbed wire for the total effect."
It also has an old country song feel.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
