The main reason that I freeze tracks is to prevent regenerating a different version of the tracks.
I find it cumbersome, when a track is frozen, that you have to remember to unfreeze it, when adding an intentional rest/hold or a change in bar settings, for the change to take affect.
I imagine that this was intended, but I wonder how many others might think the primary use of freezes should be to prevent a change to the track's version, and not to prevent the types of changes that were made on purpose.
Thanks!

Hello Thunderthud, Thank you for taking the time to post on our forum. The feedback is always welcome and we greatly appreciate people taking time out of their busy days to let us know how they're enjoying the program, as well as their thoughts on various features that Band-in-a-Box offers. In regards to freezing, you're right - it is intended to freeze and prevent changes for that specific track. Callie, one of our wonderful staff members, actually created a really neat tips and tricks section that goes over Freezing and reasons why one should considering freezing a track (this was made back in 2018, but is still relevant today): https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=512036One suggestion you could consider is making a copy of your song that you freeze and leave frozen once you're happy with it, and make a second copy with a slightly different name that you can use for further experimentation - that way you don't need to worry about remembering to unfreeze! We hope this helps, Ember

I enjoy reading the observations of those new to the program, because they do what we already learned not to do. I can see a case for a prompt ‘you are editing a frozen track; you should first...’. Or better, allow the edit and restore its frozen status afterward.
Worth looking at.

Worth looking at. Good idea, maybe one for the Wish List?

Worth looking at. I'll definitely go ahead and submit this suggestion for a message to the wishlist. Thanks!
