Yesterday as I was wasting time reading odd ball posts on the forum I came across a series of posts explaining an individuals method of creating a song in BIAB. It was a very complete 4 posts covering the guys complete steps to a BIAB finished track. Now I can't find it. Can someone please provide me with a link?

You bet, Earl. I'm thinking it was probably oldmuso's posts? Here's the first one. https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=659142#Post659208

Earl,

Did you look in your browser history? If you filter by PGMusic, that should at least remove some options.

Can you recall the name of the original poster?

Also, if you can remember an exact phrase from the post, that could be searched for.

Regards,
Noel

earl. cathies link is correct i take full blame for the 4 part method lol.
just start at part 1 and the other 3 parts follow in the series of posts i post that follow in the thread.

please note its just one way of many to develope a song useing pg's products. the method arose out of my concern that possibly new pg users might be going.....
"i need some ideas or starting point to doing a song".
the idea is a new pg user will springboard off the method to develope their own ways/methods of doing things.
its not meant to cover the whole vast topic of song production.
i was hopeing it might help people a bit that are new to pg.
hope it helps you.
best
oldmuso.

oldmuso, I'm not exactly new to BIAB. Been here since version 6.1 on floppy disks, BUT truth is I have only one song done and useable. I gigged on organ for several years as a single and got lazy about just hitting a basic drum pattern and playing the tune. I now have a psr3000 arranger and it takes forever to set up proper registrations etc. I have updated BIAB several time through the years thinking I would use it BUT in truth if I'd known it was going to take so much work and time I may not have invested the couple of thousand dollars I did over the years. Thing is, I have it, & I do believe if I would get off mybutt and get into it I would end up with a better product at the ebd of the day. Soooooo, here's to trying again. Thanks a million for your method.

Hi Earl, I used a Korg Pa4X arranger for many years. I also used BiaB way back and only recently got back in to using it. The results I got were far beter than anything I could do with the Pa4X and in the end I sold it, bought a decent master keyboard and buried deeper in to BiaB. Now using BiaB Mac 21 along with Logic Pro X the results I now get are so much more professional. I am still pretty new to BiaB but a lot of the members on these forums really are exceptionally knowledgable and are more than happy to help you out with anything that gets you stumped.

It Sounds like a lot of you guys are in the same boat I am in. I've had BiaB for several years, I've updated it several times over the years but never really used it. I just recently updated to the Ultra Pak for Mac 2021. I'm also learning to use Logic Pro X. It is going to be interesting to see how things turn out. Stay tuned..

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
